Freedom of Information Act only applies to the federal Executive Branch. Both Congress and the Judiciary are exempted from the statute by the statute.
That isn’t to say there aren’t avenues available to interested parties - like journalists - to unseal sealed court records. But, those avenues don’t include FOIA.
States, OTOH, often do have sunshine laws that give a good deal of people to John Q Public to uncover evidentiary materials that may or may not have been used in a criminal case, like your Columbine videos.
But it is suppressed evidence from the trial. The trial is about those tapes. Is Planned Parenthood claiming trade secrets on those tape?
Even with the trade secrets claim the church of Scientology found that the alien story got leaked to the public through court papers.

I’m not sure what grounds the judge had to seal the records. As you’re probably aware, with few exceptions, court records - including the evidentiary record - generally become public domain once the trial concludes (there may be some grace period given for the appellate process to conclude, I’m not sure IANAL).
But, parties to the trial can move to seal the entire record or parts of the record - which may or may not be granted by the trial judge - and I believe (but am not positive) that the judge can seal the records sua sponte. I have no idea what the mechanics were of the sealing of these tapes. I suspect it has something to do the defendants being convicted, but that’s only a guess.
I do know that challenges to sealed records get litigated all the time in federal court. Perhaps this will be one of those times.
FWIW, the only reason I know anything about this is I was a principle in a company that was sued. We prevailed in court but there was sensitive competitive information in the court record we unsuccessfully tried to seal. Courts have become more resistant to these requests the last several years, which makes this particular case that much more peculiar. And/But, this PP thing was a criminal case and the rules may be much different than they are in civil litigation.
