“Our flight deck should reflect the diverse group of people on board our planes every day. That’s why we plan for 50% of the 5,000 pilots we train in the next decade to be women or people of color,” United announced on Tuesday.
Today, United has one of the most diverse pilot populations of any U.S. carrier with nearly 20% of our pilot group made up of women and people of color. We are working toward raising that number even higher by partnering with diversity-led organizations and continuing to remove gender and racial barriers. And we’re going one step further with plans for 50% of United Aviate Academy students being women and people of color to ensure our students reflect the diversity of the customers and communities we serve.

I won’t be flying with them, anymore.
99.99% of the flights will be fine with pilots that ‘look like the Third World’. The problem is the other 0.01%, where pilots have to do something to keep from crashing. A recent example is the 737 Max, where you had the two crashes by Third World pilots, but none from US pilots (and they did have at least one identical situation that they were able to recover from).
Retired US Air Force here.
I know plenty of pilots who happen to be black. It is also VERY difficult to keep them in service, because the Airlines recruit the best of them always.
So it’s not like anyone, even United, was “shunning” them.
Want to make a lot of money while being black? Learn, baby learn. You’ll be fought over by the best companies!
What could go wrong?
And the more WHITE people killed at the hands of 3rd world incompetents, the better for The Chosen and the rest of the NWO!!!!
All same people need to take other airlines.
My brother married a Taiwanese woman, so Dayton is clearly Asian. Do you think his prospects of getting hired by United with their new "diversity" hiring practices will be good for him? I think they don't want Asians as much as they don't want whites. Never flying United again, their emphasis is uniting the world, not safe planes and the most excellent pilots?
“Our flight deck should reflect the diverse group of people on board our planes every day.”
The safety of its passengers is evidently not United’s top priority. Noted.
Color all important
Skill and hours not so much
If you can play a video game you can fly one of our jets, sign up today and learn how!!!!!!!!!!!
See article - “the darker the better” might mean light skinned Asians are out also
Yeah right after they let me fly remotely with full indemnity as my planes tend to crash often ...
Do we think that United will open a recruitment center at the border next?
Well-if it’s how we pick a President.... they why won’t it work with airlines?
I mean...didn’t O’Bozo do a great job? (sarcasm)
Skin Color (or even gender) is beside the point — JUST DO NOT LOWER HIRING STANDARDS FOR ANYONE. IF THEY CAN DO THE JOB AND MEET THE STANDARDS, HIRE THEM REGARDLESS OF SKIN COLOR OR GENDER.
RE: “the darker the better” might mean light skinned Asians are out also
Take a deep tan before the interview. :)
Turn the passenger planes into drones piloted remotely by $5/hr-subcontracted pilots in Bangladesh.
We want stable, good, professional pilots in the cockpit.
Not somebody who’d say “No, I don’t think I’ll ever get over Macho Grande.”
