A link between AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine and rare blood clots in the brain has been discovered, but officials have yet to identify a possible cause, according to a senior European Medicines Agency official.
“In my opinion, we can now say it, it is clear that there is an association (of the brain blood clots) with the vaccine,” Mario Cavaleri, chair of the EMA vaccine evaluation team, said, according to Reuters.
“However, we still do not know what causes this reaction.”
The EMA clarified in a statement that the vaccine review was ongoing and the agency expects to announce its findings this week.
“At present the review has not identified any specific risk factors, such as age, gender or a previous medical history of clotting disorders, for these very rare events,” the statement read.
“A causal link with the vaccine is not proven, but is possible and further analysis is continuing.”
The investigation is looking into 44 reports of a rare blood clot in the brain known as cerebral venous sinus thrombosis; 9.2 million people in the European Economic Area have received the vaccine, Reuters reported.
The agency and the World Health Organization maintain that the benefits of AstraZeneca’s vaccine outweigh the risks.
However, France, Germany and the Netherlands have already suspended the use of the vaccine as the investigation continues.
The Netherlands’ medical authority reported that it found blood clots in women between the ages of 25 and 65, according to CNN.
Germany reported that nine of its 31 patients who had developed CVST died, and 29 cases were found in women between the ages of 20 and 63.
Norway reported three deaths among people who developed blood clots and hemorrhaging after receiving the vaccine.

“the benefits of AstraZeneca’s vaccine outweigh the risks”
for people at risk of death from Covid.
Important to note that the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine is NOT available in the United States.
In fact, they haven’t even requested FDA authorization for use. This is something for people outside the US to worry about. Americans have three safe and effective vaccine options today and will likely have a fourth (Novavax) within about a month.
It is possible that an anti-coagulant drug might eliminate even the small risk of death by blood clot.
“...we still do not know what causes this reaction.”
Gee...maybe that’s why it’s EXPERIMENTAL????
AS ARE THE OTHERS??????
GMAFB. Wake up people.
Anybody know which vaccine they’re giving our military?
Thanks for posting this article. A close friend’s sister died of a blood clot in her brain a few days after being vaccinated. She left behind a husband and two children.
My cousin died two days after his vaccination. He was 77, and healthy. I wonder now if this might have been the reason. AFAIK, there was no autopsy.
“Americans have three safe and effective vaccine options today”
Considering that the testing has not been done, how is it possible to know that?
Without wanting to commit the logical error of “post hoc ergo propter hoc,” there are disturbing reports of bad things happening to people who take these vaccines.
There are also reports of people contracting the virus after vaccination.
Yet, folks will still line up and gladly get the jab.
The fake vaccine pushers around here make me want to be sick. They refuse to face the fact they have been duped.
Phase 1 clinical trials began March 16th 2020. Since that time, between the US and the UK, over 100,000 people have participated in the Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 clinical trials for Moderna and Pfizer. Tens of thousands more for J&J. Animal trials using rhesus monkeys were also carried out successfully. That's how we know.
"Without wanting to commit the logical error of “post hoc ergo propter hoc,” there are disturbing reports of bad things happening to people who take these vaccines."
You've correctly identified the common fallacy for people looking at those reports as evidence of a problem. Put another way, if you gave anything (Tylenol, gummy bears, a glass of fresh water) to 105,000,000 people - starting with the oldest and most frail - and then watched them all like a hawk, some would have adverse medical events. Do gummy bears cause broken hips? Does drinking a glass of water cause death? Of course not, and we know that. But people have health issues and people sometimes die. If we attempt to paint them all with a broad brush trying to find a singular thing to tie all that data together (e.g. "IT MUST BE THE VACCINE!") then we will almost certainly not arrive at the truth. Each event must be individually examined. And they are.
To date, there have been zero medical investigations which have determined that a person in the US or the UK died because of a COVID-19 vaccine. Literally not a single death has been causally linked to any of the available COVID-19 vaccines in either of those countries (the only two I'm really tracking data for). Out of 105,000,000 people who've had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. That's pretty telling.
"There are also reports of people contracting the virus after vaccination."
The vaccines aren't 100% effective. No vaccine is. The polio vaccine comes close after you've had four doses of it. The smallpox vaccine that wiped smallpox off the face of the Earth is only 95% effective. You can achieve a perfect end result with an imperfect product.
It's a bit simplistic to say this, but if the vaccine is 95% effective, that means 1 in 20 can still contract it (yes I know it's more complicated than this, but this is the easy math example). So if 105,000,000 people have been vaccinated, we would expect that about 5.25 million could still contract the disease (along with 99.75 million who can't). This gap can come because of an immune system problem (like chemo or AIDS), or because of existing sickness, or because there are some people whose immune systems don't react to a particular antigen. But again, it doesn't have to be perfect in all cases to do its job.
Israel is down from 10,000 new cases a day to under 300 on average. Down to an average of 8 deaths per day for the whole country.
Don’t worry, we’ll be there soon. We’re about two months behind them.
My wife is a Senior Project Manager for a major medical trials company. She tells me (anecdotally) than NO ONE in research will go anywhere near these “vaccines.” The only way to release a vaccine into the public so quickly is by removing safety protocols. I’m sure removal of several unnecessary regulations helped a lot. But the medical research workers that I know refer to all of these vaccines as “experimental.”
The hydroxychloriquine cocktail works. People test negative in 5 days or less after starting, with significant improvement within 24 hours.
That being the case, why get a vaccine?
“That being the case, why get a vaccine?”
True, but some people say that TPTB are trying to make the Hydroxychloroquine unavailable.
“Phase 1 clinical trials began March 16th 2020. I am told that more time is required for adequate testing than has passed since testing began. Q.E.D.
“To date, there have been zero medical investigations which have determined that a person in the US or the UK died because of a COVID-19 vaccine.”
I very much doubt that TPTB would allow any such investigation to reach any other conclusion.
Nobody stopped the reports of anaphylaxis from being published. We now know that there’s a 1 in 90,000 chance of anaphylactic reaction with Pfizer’s vaccine and about 1 in 400,000 with Moderna’s.
That’s a pretty scary idea, though in practice it’s generally easy to reverse.
