Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told department employees he may restart border wall construction to plug what he called “gaps” in the current barrier.
In a conversation with Immigration and Customs Enformcement employees last week Mr. Mayorkas was asked about his plans for the wall and he said that while President Biden has canceled the border emergency and halted Pentagon money flowing to the wall, “that leaves room to make decisions” on finishing some “gaps in the wall.”

My take is now that President Donald J Trump is “gone”, the left knows that local Hispanic population doesn’t want to he to deal with the huge numbers of fresh illegal immigrants and their criminal history.
Polling is bad on the border so they have been reviewing options.
I don’t think that there is a chance in hell that they really will do this, but the border must be Polling bad for them even to allow thought about it.

At the fed level, ‘Rats 100% corrupt, ‘pubs 75% corrupt. give or take a percent or two.
At the state and big city level, ‘Rats 100% corrupt, ‘pubs 25% corrupt.
At the local town, ward, precinct level: ‘Rats 50% corrupt, pubs, 5% corrupt.
Give or take... Bottom line is, Trump is right in not starting any new party, and re-instantiate the Republican party, from the bottom up.
