China and the United States have sailed aircraft carriers into contentious waters in the East and South China seas, the latest maritime contest between the strategic rivals at a time of heightened tensions in the region.
Analysts say their naval presence in the Indo-Pacific at the same time highlights the risk of military conflict between the powers, as Beijing asserts its maritime claims in the region more aggressively and Washington focuses its defence strategy on countering China.
It comes amid a deepening dispute between Beijing and Manila over the presence of Chinese vessels - which the Philippines says are a maritime militia but China says are fishing boats - in the Whitsun Reef in the South China Sea. The Philippine foreign ministry on Monday said China's claims that the boats were sheltering from bad weather were "blatant falsehoods" and "clearly (a) false narrative of China's expansive and illegitimate claims in the West Philippine Sea".

Don’t worry, he won’t attack the CCP. He will, however, attack Russia over the Donbas region of Ukraine. The Russians are, for the most part, white (there are some ethnic minorities) and thus deserving of punishment. Believe they want a war with Russia, their own propaganda about “Russian collusion” and “Russian disinformation” tells you all you need to know.
And yes, three letter agencies, I know you are reading these posts, go stick your head in a posterior region of your body.
"Jack St. Clair Kilby (November 8, 1923 – June 20, 2005) was an American electrical engineer who took part (along with Robert Noyce of Fairchild) in the realization of the first integrated circuit while working at Texas Instruments (TI) in 1958. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics on December 10, 2000.[1] Kilby was also the co-inventor of the handheld calculator and the thermal printer, for which he had the patents. He also had patents for seven other inventions.[2] "
In this Bond movie, a media mogul tries to start a war between UK and China...Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce) orders his stealth ship to destroy a British warship...Then his stealth ship also shoots down a Chinese fighter plane...
I was reminded of this film by the story about tension between US and China...
I love the Chinese people which is why I hate the Chinese government.
Ditto, I have been studying Mandarin for 2 years and previously studied Korean for 3. So I dare anyone to claim I am a racist.
Edison told Tesla he’d pay him a million if he could fix one of the dynamos in NYC (Tesla was fresh off the boat, if memory serves, and brimming with the AC ideas that revolutionized electrical generation/distribution and integration into all our lives), as a joke, and Tesla went over and fixed it, then got pissed when he couldn’t get paid. He then took his brains to Westinghouse, who wound up losing financial control of his own company, and Tesla willingly tore up his own contract, leaving the company’s new masters free as birds. [Margaret Cheney, “Tesla Man out of Time”, if memory serves]
Tesla considered Edison a plodder with no imagination or vision. Edison hated Tesla.
Six months after Tesla died in 1943 the Supreme Court ruled all of Marconi’s radio patents invalid as he used Tesla’s patents to build his radio. That left Tesla as inventor of the radio.
Tesla could have been the worlds richest man but he tore up his contract giving him huge royalties on every KWh of AC electricity sold. He said that electricity belonged to everyone.
In one of the great ironies Tesla spent his last years living in a hotel powered by Edison’s Direct Current.

Before China can act she needs a naval base in the Indian Ocean —Burma? Malaya? someplace to re -supply ships of her fleet. Maybe Iran could offer a port or two for the right price.
They have a narrow window of two years. Biden will be neutered in 2022 and replaced by Trump in 2024. They must act this summer. It will be a muli-pronged attack—with a big computer cyber attack on USA. Knock out the power grid and set a new flu upon us. This one that will kill only Whites and Blacks but not Asians and Native Americans. Iran will move on Iraq, Pakistan on India, Turkey on the Kurds, Russia on Georgia and Ukraine/Moldavia.
All I feel when looking at those men is shame for what the USA has become.
Maybe one in a surprise attack. You only get to launch a surprise attack once.
I guess the USA is not adopting Communism fast enough for the CCP. They should just wait a few more years...
China is preparing for war with the US. I really could give two shits about disputed islands around China. China could sink our carriers in a heartbeat if they wanted. God help us if Biden is commander in chief during a war.

So if China blocks all access in the West Philippines Sea, I guess all sea cargo from Asia and the Middle East will have to travel West around the Horn of Africa or wait... the Suez Canal.
Guess you don’t know how much of our shipping passes through there (most going from the Singapore Straits to the Taiwan/Philippines sea border before reaching the Pacific.
Malaya?

Luckily, the previous Malaysian PM was deposed and all the Chinese projects stopped. Including a huge seaport/ navy base opposite of Singapore in Johore Bahru.
We share a lovely AF Base at Paya Lebar in Singapore...
Make it here then we don't need to worry about that.

Trump is gone at least until 2024.

The manufacturing shift out of China stopped abruptly on November 6, 2020
Plus, Americans just won’t do repetitive, mind-numbing manufacturing work, when most of the work offered is of the starter job, minimum wage variety (see below)
We had a great chance to do it actually - when the service industries shut down due to lockdowns. Instead of offering pay at least comparable to what most people could make on unemployment, manufacturing companies chose the minimum wage or contract worker route (light industrial work through staffing agencies). Americans weren’t interested.
A war with China means no more shipping. Good. Then the US will be finally forced to make it here.
There are two ways to end “glowBULL” free trade. With tariffs or torpedoes. I am good either way.

I agree 1000%. Make it here. But are you willing to work to make it happen here?
This means huge pay cuts for workers. You know most of this will start out at minimum wage, as it is now.
I’m for sure not willing to do any mind-numbing manual labor for $12.32/hr (Colorado minimum wage) management level yes. But no lower. Don’t think you want me turning a screwdriver or whatever, unless you want lots of rejects.
And no unions.
Don’t think most of the service-oriented workers fired/furloughed due to lockdowns will be willing to do blue-collar work. At the other end, yutes sure won’t do it.
Not a popular opinion, so we import workers from Mexico?
The USA of today is not the same USA in the early 1940’s and our wartime economy.
Half the country has an IQ less than 100. These people LIKE these kind of jobs.
