Howdy, Mayor.
Has the latest deep freeze moved out, allowing y’all to thaw out? With luck that’s the last of them.
Howdy, PRO1
How was your weekend? Did you and your son have a good time during his days off from work?
Oh, thanks for sending some of your nice spring weather down this way! We reeeeeeally appreciate it! :-)
Dang it. Shift key isn’t behaving. That “1” was supposed to be a “!”. *sigh*
Howdy, Kathy.
Still mighty windy up your way, I see. Watching the small planes land at Lake Hood is almost enough to make one a little airsick. LOL! Those wings are waving hard.
Grass is starting to poke through melting snow.
Spring is THINKING about making an appearance up there. :-)
Howdy, luvie.
You have my sympathies. WAY too early for temps in the 90s.
Glad today was a good day for you.
Yes, it is too hot for the first week of April. I dread seeing what May will bring. Some years, it’s our hottest month. Ack!
I even did some clean-up of pine needles outside. It wasn’t that warm and there was a nice breeze.
How are things there? Is it still chilly or are things warming up for you, too? Have you heard if the museum will be open this coming weekend?
In your neck o’ da woods, I guess it IS a little scary when it gets so hot this early. I hope it’s just a fluke and will back off to more normal temps soon.
Good for you getting outside to enjoy the day. Gotta take advantage of the nice weather and get some fresh air.
It’s almost hot during the day here this week. Upper 70s, close to 80 the next three days. Feels very nice!
The museum won’t be open for a few weeks yet. We haven’t had the big work day yet to get everything ready. I hope that will be this weekend. Just waiting for the call or email from da boss man. LOL
I hope it will back off, but I doubt it. Well, 81 on Saturday, but whooptie-doo. LOL!
I hope you get word soon that you can go work at the museum getting things set up. I know your fingers are just itching to get started on the new arrivals!
I ran the public library just outside the gate in Hinsville for a bit (retired now). A Great Community, and, it was an honor to serve the soldiers from Ft.Stewart. The base library had VERY limited hours, so, we gladly took up the slack.
I liked the area as most of the folks that live in Hinesville are military families and act like it.
God’s Country down there!
Well, you do live pretty far south AND in the desert. Heat kinda comes with the territory. LOL
It’s usually last-minute when we get the call from the head guy. It depends on his work schedule and his job has him out of town a lot.
But yes, I’m rarin’ to go!
Yeah...the desert. What was I thinkin’, marrying someone who likes this place. LOL! BTW...our anniversary was yesterday. Looooooooots of years. :D
Have they gotten more uniforms or will you be concentrating on other things this year? Last year was a long one without those Saturday visits, huh.
A belated Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby!
Pretty much anything they get in nowadays is clean. It’s the stuff from the Tupelo collection that’s dirty and needs a lot of attention, and there are still crates of that we haven’t unpacked yet. I know there’s at least one crate with WWI items in it that I’m dying to get my hands on. It needs to be on display. I know they got several small mannequins last year for them. Regular adult mannequins are way too big because people were small back in those days.
Last year was a VERY long year, not being able to go up there every Saturday.
Oh, man! No wonder you can’t wait to get into those crates! Not much WWI stuff left that’s not in shreds. I’ll bet you’ll get them looking practically brand new! Yes, they need to be on display for sure.
How's everyone doing this morning?
We have three uniforms on display now that I cleaned up a couple of years ago. They’re in display cases since we didn’t have mannequins small enough for them. One has a photograph pinned to the shoulder of the soldier it belonged to, wearing the uniform. That one is my favorite.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Were there fewer people at the lake yesterday, giving you and Gizmo more freedom to roam?
That would be the best part. Getting to know the man who wore the uniform. Awesome.
Guess I’d better head off. Talk to ya tomorrow! Hope your pretty weather continues.
Yes, seeing a face made a lot of difference. Plus there was a little written on the back about him. I know nothing about the men and women who wore the other uniforms I’ve dealt with but I always wonder.
We have another pretty day ahead, then rain and storms come through tomorrow night. Rain chances go through Saturday. I hope we don’t get much because the lake is still VERY high.
Sleep well. I hope tomorrow doesn’t get as hot as they predicted.
