If masks “work”, why do we “need” “social distancing?

COVID-19 “Cases” (i.e., testing positive) is NOT = COVID-19 “Disease” cases. Most young people who get infected with the COVID-19 virus are minimally affected or not noticeably affected at all. They do develop needed immunity and contribute to the nation’s “herd immunity” just as the people getting vaccinated do.
We’ve been imprisoning people for a year and we are still just “learning?”
Cases, especially in children, do not matter.

People are going to live their life. Protect/vaccinate the most vulnerable and the new cases will have little impact on the economy or society as a whole. Here in CA, ICU patients with COVID are at the lowest level since they started tracking COVID in Mar of 2020. Just 507 ICU patients in a state of 40M people. You can’t “flatten the curve” much more than that.

I don’t believe there’s a surge. There might be, but after being lied to for over a year about 1,000 times, my default mode is to disbelieve.
Not buying any more hysteria. The surge in positive test results for this overrated virus in nothing to worry about, especially for young people.
