Former professional basketball player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said Friday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that Major League Baseball moving the All-Star Game from Atlanta, GA following the passage of a new voter law “means something to everybody.”
Melber asked, “Kareem, what does it mean for Major League Baseball to take a stand like this right now?”
Abdul-Jabbar said, “I think it’s very significant, Ari, because it shows that this means something to everybody. This is something that we all want to see end. Voter suppression is not what democracy is about. We all want to see it end. By Major League Baseball making a statement like that, they show that they are concerned and that the people — that so many of their players are people of color, they’re probably worried about it also.”

To me it means you are an illiterate moron who can not read, or a willfully ignorant moron who believes what he’s been told by other illiterate morons who haven’t read the law.
Done with Professional Sports. Why watch? No reason to watch.
Hey! Kareem’s had a hard life, doncha know! /sarc
Yes indeed;
Stupidity compounded.
It says it all.
Done with Professional Sports. Why watch? No reason to watch.

Mindless entertainment. Running out of options. Looking at other threads, all streaming services, cable and broadcast TV are forbidden for being watched as they are judged to be too woke/ liberal. What’s left?
It means the MLB, NBA, NFL are filled to the brim with morons. A bunch of illiterates who can’t read & comprehend the law & constitution. Anti freedom morons.
I don’t get how the Georgia legislators didn’t see this coming. Or they did, and they don’t want national brands in their state.
Yeah, I think they should move it to North Korea..
Why not let kids, infants, and pets vote, they’ve been suppressed forever. The other nations of the world should have a say who rules us too. Why keep suppressing them?
I have no connection to St Louis, but have been a fan of their for over 50 years. When I saw BLM stenciled into the mound last year when I immediately turned off their game on against the Pirates. My Cardinals live in the past. Baseball died in 2020. Unless they do a complete 180 and apologize with what they have done, I’ll never go back. And it looks like I’ll never go back.
The destruction of MLB is destruction of a part of American culture that also became a successful business. And the destruction of baseball is not complete. I would expect playing the national anthem before the game will be up on the table as well. And wait until Cooperstown will have to answer for the many “racists” are in the hall.
What is sickening, watching MLB businessman bringing destruction upon itself. Like they really wanted leftists to replace the fans they are losing in droves. These guys are scared of leftist mobs, because they tend to be in demonkkkrap cities which do not enforce laws against demonkkkrap criminals. That’s what all boils down to - buying protection. And the stupid demonkkkraps are going to lose tax revenue and jobs causing the further destruction of their fiefdoms. Eventually the federal givernment won’t be able to bail then out.
We can live without MLB, MLB can’t live without US.
Another idiot.
It don’t mean nuttin to me
Everything you said is spot on, and it’s sad. The left wants to destroy everything that is American. Wonder when they will go after apple pie? Oh wait, it has too many calories.
I am a fourth generation Cardinals fan. My family is all from southern Illinois originally. I still remember my grandfather listening to the games on his radio.
Like corporations would really want to do something like that.
It’s far cheaper and easier to staff an office for diversity, inclusion and equity (DIE) and throw money to leftist causes and politicians.
Tell Kareem, that's all it means to me.
While he doesn’t have a clue.
Then you really know how deep the tradition goes, and how much it hurts to see this. What is worse is to know our “leaders” and people in positions of public trust are kowtowing to a radical political party, and not defending the American way. WW2 generation would be appalled to see this happening.
I stopped watching Baseball in the 80’s during one of those strikes
Sure does! This means I won’t watch another MLB game if I can ever help it again!
Screw these dirty rotten SOB millionaires!
