Research: Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Criteria

I was *shocked* last week to see the large multi-national bank I work for has an ESG scorew and is worried about improving it. Apparently it's something all the big banks are doing right now.

This cancel culture / woke bullsh*t needs to be stopped ... fast.

People are afraid to speak...

In the last few months I've noticed an informal conservative underground forming... People speak in shorthand and if the response is conservatives there's a 'knowing' that happens. Similar to the informal bonding of men on flights right after 9/11 ... a 'we'll be the team' if terrorists try to take the plane awareness...

If you're unaware of this it might be that people perceive you as a liberal.

I don't see any evidence of this "cancel culture" out here in the real world where I live and exist everyday. What I see are people going about their business, making a living, raising families and getting ahead in life. And not paying the snobs and elites any attention at all...

That is a good post and I tend to agree. Outside social media, people I live and work with are just going about their normal business. This stuff doesn't come up in my workplace, at family gatherings or with my neighbors.

Out in the virtual world, I agree it is a very big deal. Even here on Free Republic (which is a sort of social media in itself).

As the weather warms, I recommend closing the laptops more, shutting off the cell phones and opening up a book to read. Or go for a walk.

I do not think it is healthy for people to immerse themselves so much in this virtual world of ours.

“ Getting this back starts with culture. But history also has a will and a direction of its own, and always seems to find a way to correct at some point. The problem is, that point often doesn’t occur without great pain and hardship.”

Pain and hardship. Something this perverse - which is what the culture and fascist government of this nation has become - can only be corrected by complete destruction and devastation. And that is what is coming to the [former] United States. And in all of human history no nation has deserved destruction more than this perverted conglomerate. More evil is done in this land than the Earth has ever witnessed before...and its terrible end will be both horrifying and just.

Because The Left won the power to decide what is “Controversial”, and corporations do not want to be “Controversial”.

Shareholder Value Is No Longer Everything, Top C.E.O.s Say

The shift comes at a moment of increasing distress in corporate America, as big companies face mounting global discontent over income inequality, harmful products and poor working conditions.

The Business Roundtable did not provide specifics on how it would carry out its newly stated ideals, offering more of a mission statement than a plan of action. But the companies pledged to compensate employees fairly and provide “important benefits,” as well as training and education. They also vowed to “protect the environment by embracing sustainable practices across our businesses” and “foster diversity and inclusion, dignity and respect.”

I blame it on the industrial/technological revolution - the price of labor and distribution was never meant to get so cheap that a man has to compete with machines and with people literally on the other side of the world.

A man should be able to find enough work locally to feed his family.

There is something wrong when it’s cheaper to buy a new thing than fix the broken one. There’s something wrong when you get paid for not working. There’s something wrong when you drive in an air-conditioned car to the gym where you pay them to let you work up a sweat. There’s something wrong when there are more paper pushing clerks and bureaucrats than there are actual workers. There’s something wrong when little boys are given the option of becoming little girls (or becoming monstrosities who think they are little girls).

If we evolved through natural selection - survival of the fittest - then doesn’t it stand to reason that we are devolving, now that survival no longer depends on fitness?

I think nothing makes sense anymore because with technology we have worked things out so that people have an equal chance of survival - whether they work hard or not - whether they are morons or not - whether they are worthwhile human beings or not.

The progressive hate the Constitution they think it’s all the wrong ways of governing they are more then happy to adopt the slacker rules.
Laziness is a right by them one should not have to kick in anything to reap the rewards.
Hello 1960’s movement.

If you let others control your life, I can't help that. It's how you respond to others that dictates how your life will be.

Stop trying to convince me that your boogie man is coming to get me and get out there and stop them yourself since you seem obsessed with them.

I'll tell you what I told the other fella. Stop trying to scare me into thinking your boogie man is coming to get me. Get out there and stop him if you are so worried.

Me? I got better things to do at my age.

I don't see any evidence of this "cancel culture" out here in the real world where I live and exist everyday.

One could argue that the absence of evidence of cancel culture is proof that it is working.

Absence of proof is not necessarily proof of absence. In this case, one has to ask what it might be like in your "real world where you live" had the national conservative voices NOT been canceled in their early stages.

Sure, people would still be going about their business, but they would be doing so with a fuller experience of ideas in their minds. They might be making different choices, different candidates running for local office, different voting patterns, people more willing to speak out, making different purchases, or just putting up different bumper stickers and yard signs.

Cancel culture is a stealth movement. It's meant to sustain the vacuum on the right so that it can be filled by dangerous voices on the left. The fact that you don't see it might be a clue that it's working. But it's true that we can never know for sure.

I think the pedestrian right-of-way at college campuses would be the place to start. From now on, every time an entitled moron steps out in front your car without looking - just let nature take its course.

You don't know anything about me so stop assuming and inferring based on your own misinformed ideas.

I am not afraid to speak when I have to. But I'm not an activist or somebody interested in making an issue about everything I don't like. I just ignore people and move on. I don't have time for irrelevancy.

I made it a goal 2 decades ago to not be friends with liberals or to deal with liberals. So far so good.

People want to make an issue about all of this hate on the Left but I just laugh and ignore them. I can't control what they do anyway. I've got better things to do with my life and it doesn't include getting all worked up over somebody else's concerns like yourself.

Like I said, you don't know anything about me. Assuming I am unaware of what you are talking about is a misjudgment on your part.

I am way beyond being concerned about what other people think of me. But I would bet it's not because they think that I'm a liberal by any means.

I will say that if more people would stop watching TV "news" (all fake nowadays...all of it), stop reading the newspapers and magazines that have agendas and get off of social media (including FR to some degree, they would be better off and not fret over things they don't like and don't have control over.
