Amanda Chase’s candidacy for governor in Virginia this year has confronted the state’s GOP with a dilemma that mirrors the challenge facing the national party: How does it reap the benefits of Trumpism but also reduce the costs?
Can it retain voters drawn to the party because of former President Donald Trump and his style of politics, but at the same time push, nudge or maneuver Trump-like candidates like Chase — who are likely to lose winnable elections — out of the way?
Virginia Republicans may have found a way to do just that by using a method of voting that reformers are promoting nationally as a tool to reduce extremism and polarization.

VA has become a deep blue state. Winning statewide elections has become almost impossible now. NoVA dominates the rest of the state.
Not really. There are more Republicans the Democrats in VA. It is just RINOs screw it all up.
VA elections are rigged. They hold out until the rest of the state has counted then Fairfax Co. results come in - late.
this started with Bush #1 taking in all those middle easterners and continued on from there. NoVa is Little Pakistan. Add that to all the federal government grifters living there and VA did what Colorado did...went deep blue.

it’s not his “style.” It is his vision for America we love and his effectiveness in accomplishing those goals. He is the greatest at standing up for the common man. “Style” has nothing to do with it.
