SNL has been done for quite awhile. Really used to look forward to watching the original cast. Not funny at all these days. IMO

“Those days, however, are long gone. SNL is no longer a meritocracy.”

Is there some kind of requirement that people watch SNL?

SNL has sucked since the Chris Farley era.

The last time that I saw anything funny on SNL was back about 1984. Eddie Murphy did a skit in white face and that was hilarious. I don’t think I have ever watched SNL since then. Now SNL is as funny as an IRS publication.

They spotted an opportunity to deliver a poorly worded PSA disguised as a comedy sketch.

It's not a comedy sketch if it's not in the least bit humorous. SNL used to have about 10% of their skits funny, it's down to about 1%. They are now the 1%ers.

Thanks for posting, and the link in the article to Heather MacDonald excellent article Race and False Hate Crime Narratives is particularly welcome.

I implore everyone to read that.

Thank you again, Kaslin, for the quality of the articles you tend to post here on FR.

I literally have not watched alphabet-network TV, drama or comedy in the last 8 years or so

I may very rarely click on such a show if I am bouncing through channels looking for something specific.

Its like time travel. Even over this relatively short period, I am amazed by changes in content. So much more political, more leftist, more race-baiting, much more sexual smut, and real continuation of the culture wars.

SNL hasn’t been funny since John Belushi died.

I wouldn’t know, but hear Saturday Night Live has been unfunny for decades.

Last time I watched I had no grey hairs, the regulars were funny - Chevy Chase, Jane Curtin, Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Garrett Morris, etc... even Al Franken (when he was still funny).

I watched maybe one or two in the early ‘80s, but it was obvious as soon as Reagan got elected that humor was no longer the priority. All the funny ones left except Al Franken who stayed but lost his sense of humor.

There were a few exceptions - I liked Dennis Miller, Eddie Murphy, Will Farrell - but they were in plenty of movies so you didn’t have to watch Saturday Night Lecture to see them...

It became kind of obvious after 1980 how Leftist and shrill the program became - they pretty much alienated their entire non-Democrat audience...

Laughter is an emotion capable of nullifying one’s self-control.

Harris nods she has none.

On the other hand, Socrates was a real party animal...

Amy Poehler & Tina Fey? Gladiators of comedy. Those women are barely funny.
