Agriculture secretary: Black farmers received 0.1 percent of Trump administration farm relief
The Hill ^ | 31 Mar 2021 | Joseph Choi

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said that only 0.1 percent of coronavirus relief set aside by the Trump administration for American farmers went to Black farmers, according to a Washington Post interview published on Thursday....

“We saw 99 percent of the money going to White farmers and 1 percent going to socially disadvantaged farmers and if you break that down to how much went to Black farmers, it’s 0.1 percent,” Vilsack said. ...The Post notes that only 1.3 percent of American farmers — around 45,000 — are Black...

1 percent of farmers got 1 percent of the money. Am I missing something?

1. are extra reparations due for "1 million" farmers, without considering the Depression, ww1 and 2, illness or farm accidents, or even an indiviual's success or failure in marketing product?

2. If the payments were held up, or manipulated, was it done by career individuals determined not to give Trump a 'win' as we've seen across agencies?

Only 0.1% went to 1.0%, according to the article.

Just too many lies told by the left. I don’t believe anything that they say or write. Just more lies.

Look what happened to the farms in South Africa after the white farmers were kicked out.

It was Zimbabwe where the white farmers were kicked out...who are now working a deal to invite them back because of the farm failures.

South Africa has yet to take the final step to take farm land as part of some political promise...it may or may not happen.

I think the story is told in a whimsical way to fit an objective. If you go state by state...the numbers go from one weird end to the other.

In a 2012 review, from California-only, out of 126,000 farmers in the state...ONLY 526 were black. I suspect if you went to states like Michigan or Wisconsin....it’s probably fewer than 300 in each state.

If you go by farm size? The USDA says that 49-percenet of black-owned farms are 50 acres or less...meaning they aren’t going to produce much. Only 13-percent of black-owned farms get into the 180 acre to 1,000 acre size...where they pull in major money. If you wanted to make a case that a significant/profitable operation requires 180 acres or more...then black-ownership is at some disadvantage, but I don’t see how the government rectifies this without taking Asians, and Hispanics into the equation as well.

I think the press is missing Trump. There was even an article in Politico about Ivanka Trump’s womans’ project ‘fraught with problems’. But the ‘problems’ had nothing to do with Ivanka, but with USAID, again, for the zillionth time, not being able to account for the money and unable to show any metrics of success.

Yep. How many useful idiots entered overpriced journalism “schools” the last 4 years in order to became left wing activists err “reporters”. But Rat cheating was so successful last November and again in Georgia, now they have no stories and no audience. Plus energy and industrial workers are ahead of them in line for learning how to code. Just another day in Xiden’s Old Republic.

The article states "The top 10 percent of farmers in the country received 60 percent of the value of the covid payments. And the bottom 10 percent received 0.26 percent.”

Are we to assume that the size of the operations of the top 10% are the same as the operations of the bottom 10%? Doesn't it make sense that the payouts are not based on number of farmers but the size of each farm's operations?

Has the Left-wing Activist Agitprop Press ever heard of a Pareto distribution?

According to the Left-wing Activist Agitprop Press, $20.8 million went to 45,000 black farmers. That's $622,222 per black farmer.

Farming is hard work. Welfare is easy.

There are virtually no black farmers.

Blacks think farmers are stupid for working hard and racist if they prosper from hard work.

>>Can a white farmer become a black farmer?\

If a guy can simply ‘identify’ as a woman, I see no problem with a white identifying as a black.

The lies continue...Ag payments depend on the amount of acreage, type of operation you are involved in. USDA loan limit is $400,000,
Though the this does exceed Obama’s Pigford I and Pigford II.
I bet Barry’s jealous that the incompetent Biden is surpassing him in fundamentally transforming America.
