G. Gordon Liddy, a mastermind of the Watergate burglary who became a radio talk show host after emerging from prison, died Tuesday at age 90. His son, Thomas Liddy, confirmed the death but did not reveal the cause, other than to say it was not related to COVID-19.

Liddy was outspoken and controversial as a political operative under Nixon. He recommended assassinating political enemies, bombing a left-leaning think tank and kidnapping war protesters. His White House colleagues ignored such suggestions. However, the Dems incorporating all his ideas.

He rode to Sturgis in 2003 from DC, in his 70’s. I had him sign a book. I gave him an ADA (Air Defense Artillery) insignia I wore in Afghanistan in 2002 as he was also ADA.
Really enjoyed his radio program, actually liked it more than Rush.

Liddy, a former FBI agent and Army veteran, was convicted of conspiracy, burglary and illegal wiretapping for his role in the Watergate burglary, which led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.

Back in the 1980’s I attended a debate between G. Gordon Liddy and Timothy Leary. The debate was held at a local college.
When Leary first walked onstage he was greeted by loud applause. But Liddy got nothing but boos. No surprise there. Colleges were liberal even back then. But when the debate was over, it was Liddy who got the loud applause. He was that good.
