Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) defended himself after news broke on Tuesday of a Department of Justice (DOJ) probe reportedly investigating whether the lawmaker had sexual relations with a teenager, claiming he was the victim of “an organized criminal extortion” involving a former DOJ official.
“Over the past several weeks my family and I have been victims of an organized criminal extortion involving a former DOJ official seeking $25 million while threatening to smear my name,” Gaetz said in a series of tweets on Tuesday.
“We have been cooperating with federal authorities in this matter and my father has even been wearing a wire at the FBI’s direction to catch these criminals. The planted leak to the FBI tonight was intended to thwart that investigation,” he wrote.
“No part of the allegations against me are true, and the people pushing these lies are targets of the ongoing extortion investigation,” he continued.

The guy who eas trying to extort him is Pensacola attorney David McGee. McGee has been mentioned on FR before, in an article which named him as an attny, pro bono, for the family of late Iran hostage and retired FBI agent Robert Levinson, who disappeared in March 2007 after or during a visit to the Iranian island of Kish, a free trade zone which does not require a visa to visit. Attny David McGee apparently reprisented himself to the family as a friend of Levinson. McGee supposedly had previously worked at the DoJ.
Levinson allegedly met with a former US citizen Dawud Salahuddin [not his original name], a convert to Islam who had in 1980 or 81 assassinated in Washington DC an Iranian diplomat loyal to the Shah of Iran, after which Salahuddin fled the US to the Middle East and eventually was given a job working for Iran’s PressTV.
Some reports have retired Florida resident and FBI employee Levinson visiting the Persian Gulf region as part of a rogue investigation of the Russian Mob and/or the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ trafficking in Heroin from Afghanistan. Early reports said he was investigating cigarette smuggling on behalf of the company British American Tobacco, which denied it. Other reports have Levinson making the trip as part of a media project.
While reprisenting the Levinson family it was strange how the plight of Levinson in Iran went nearly unmentioned in the press... which was very convenient for Obama and Hillary Clinton, who were trying to land the nuclear deal with Iran.
Also involved with investigating Levinson’s disappearance is a woman named Robyn Gritz, but her investigation was blocked by her superior Andy McCabe [of Russian hoax infamy], whom she accused of harassment. McCabe had her security clearance removed. Another figure we are familiar with testified on her behalf in the harassment case- the DIA head, General Michael Flynn.

I believe he is innocent. They will bleed him financially to defend himself, just like General Flynn. It is part of the playbook to destroy the opposition.
He should not be defended nor condemned until the facts are known. Also, I want to know if it’s true that one of his associates is a man who is involved in sex trafficking. If that is the case, it looks really bad for Gaetz.

This McGee character tried to shake down his family for $25mil. to kill the story.
Matt and family reported it to the FBI an his father wore a wire to record and entrap McGee.
They turned over the ‘incriminating’ tapes to the FBI.
The first installment of $5 mil was to be made yesterday but the story was leaked to the newspaper, putting a kibosh on the extortion scheme.
Sounds like someone in the FBI leaked the story to prevent McGee from being caught red-handed.
