The prosecution told jurors to "believe your eyes" when they watch and hear about Floyd's final minutes. And video of the incident may make folks think this is an easy case for prosecutors. But the forensic pathology piece suggests otherwise. (Disclaimer: There is so much that could be written, discussed, argued and debated on the forensic pathology front, but I will touch on only some of the highlights here. As a warning, some readers may find the analysis and details below upsetting.)
Preparing the public for maybe no conviction?
This post on twitter pretty much sums it up so far IMO:
Just an opinion but so far given the witness emotional testimony of their feelings at what they report seeming could be a clear indication prosecutors see their case is weak on scientific evidence and are trying to convict based on emotion and agends and not on evidence
and I’m not sure why the “warning”... it’s not that bad
unless people they think people will shocked because they are seeing this for the first time being from MSNBC
Where’s the video of the cop sitting on Floyd’s chest?
Can somebody tell me why so many here are cheering for this guy’s acquittal? Is it simply to be smug over BLM?
I ask this as someone who’s really apathetic about this trial and don’t really care that much what the verdict is. All the people on this website now saying “the autopsy says he died of drugs, not the knee!” is giving me severe Charlottesville déjà vu, and people here always saying “the autopsy shows Heather Heyer died of a heart attack, not the car!”
I’ve seen the video’s dozens of times but never the one of which you request.....hmmmmmm.
Re disclaimer. I’m guessing they’re trying to prepare their normal readership that this may not be the slam-dunk conviction they want.
Wait until the defense goes through every death certificate this ME signed where he attributed cause of death to accidental opioid overdose/suicide yet the decedent had significantly smaller concentrations of fentanyl than Floyd had.
That’ll be a hoot.
How did all those people die without Derrick Chauvin’s ‘knee on their back?’
“It’s not that bad.”?
The way I read it, they are trying trivialize the facts.
Because he didn’t kill the guy... the guy would’ve been dead even if he hadn’t been arrested.
And most of us absolutely hate it that they want to literally hang him anyway, even before any evidence is shown in trial.
Fact: No matter what the final verdict is for this case, you can bet a cold Spiral-Ham Sandwich on Russian Rye Bread that there will be plenty of riots, throughout the land.
Years ago, I might have had trust in the legal system. Today? I really do not know. Given the clowns in the legal system both within and without our proven corrupt government, our court system that allows LGBTwhatevers so sue someone for not decorating a cake for them, a joke of a formerly respected election system, and our media, I actually will not know who to believe no matter what the outcome.
The firefighter gal was full of herself. She WANTS to help convict.
I don’t think he will be acquitted. I believe he will be convicted of manslaughter if nothing else.
“Can somebody tell me why so many here are cheering for this guy’s acquittal”
1. The Minneapolis Police Department trained its officers to use the neck restraint that led to George Floyd’s killing, according to court documents
2. Medical examiner: George Floyd had ‘fatal level of fentanyl’ in his system, but is ‘not saying this killed him’
https://www.foxnews.com/us/medical-examiner-george-floyd-fentanyl-system
3. If you keep removing non-lethal tactics from police officers, eventually all you have left are lethal tactics
Part of it is people thinking the world is a better place without George Floyd in it.
Can somebody tell me why so many here are cheering for this guy’s acquittal? Is it simply to be smug over BLM?
I think many think a manslaughter charge could and should stick. But they overcharged him just to appease the mob
but after all of the fallout and how the media twisted the facts and ran with a narrative and how that turned into even more crazy stuff (ie renaming everything, or WOKE everywhere, or someone turning it into a race issue)
or how the DA of MN wouldn’t release the body cam video that doesn’t fit the narrative and we didn’t see it until it was leaked to the British press showing a spaz saying he couldn’t breathe well before the knee
the bottom line is
Narrative: A Racist white cop knelt on an innocent black mans neck cutting off his air flow killing him so lets riot , burn and loot and be WOKE with everything
Reality
a cop made a poor decision kneeling on his neck a few minutes too long after he was acting crazy, resisting arrest, and swallowing his drug stash. And we don’t even know for sure what killed him but it likely wasn’t asphyxiation(aka I can’t reathe)
I don’t think a fair trial is possible. How does that go with our legal system? Our system will bow to the crowd, even if evidence is lacking. I don’t think I would like the guy for a neighbor or pal. However, I saw evidence of an officer wanting to dominate, not to terminate.
All I want is for the accused to receive a fair trial with the verdict decided by the evidence.
Do you think that is possible?
How did all those people die without Derrick Chauvin’s ‘knee on their back?’
or how did all those people live when police used the same knee to neck hold on them?
Hey, now that’s a good idea for lunch tomorrow!
