Seattle residents said they were ‘sad’ and ‘depressed’ over encampments that have sprung up across city parks and fields in the past year as the numbers of homeless people soared.
The homeless population in Washington State rose in 2020 by more than six per cent - or about three times the national average, according to the latest data. That increase is being felt in the Puget Sound region.
Parents say they have had to resort to conducting ‘sweeps’ of public parks to make sure there are no needles on the ground before allowing their kids to play on swing sets, according to local residents of the Emerald City.

It must be the fault of a Republican mayor and governor?
False “homeless” metric.
It doesn’t help that the cities around here are building camps that are attracting more and more bums.
The real metric ought to be a ratio of paranoid schizophrenics, drunks, hard druggies, and people with zero job skills living in a region where minimum housing costs are $1,500 a month.
Once established as homeless....they become campers.
Your liberal mecca, folks...
For those aged 21 and over, it allows possession of a set “personal use” amount of controlled substances (e.g., 40 grams of oxycodone, 1 gram of heroin). Knowing possession of any amount above the personal use amount is a Class C felony.
For those under 21, it makes possession of any amount of controlled substance a gross misdemeanor.
It makes it unlawful to open a package containing a counterfeit or controlled substance or consume those substances in view of the general public or in a public place. This is punishable by a civil infraction with a maximum penalty of $125 and will be deposited in the State v. Blake reimbursement account (described below).
It decriminalizes the injection, ingestion, inhalation, or introduction of a controlled substance into the body.

Little question this will bring some fine, upstanding citizens into the state.
Our winter is mild compared to the upper Midwest, but it rains almost every week, quite often for the entire week!
April 1st is usually when people start drifting up the Pacific coast to Seattle.
By May 1st, it is much drier, and sleeping outside is usually quite comfortable.
A rat paradise with the help of the GOP
More people have discovered the joys of camping. So what? Thats all. .
And with the NWO they all will be given food/housing and if lucky, occassioal medical attention, all behind a barbed wire fence..
Unmentioned, and a huge plus in attracting these downtrodden unlucky salt of the earth folks, is the locals need to virtue signal to all and sundry their goodness by handing out money to these homeless unfortunates, believing that money will help them eat and rise out of the unfortunate conditions they live in because of white privileged.

You voted for it, seattle residents.
Many Seattle residents are sad and depressed as a normal course of business. I lived there for 5 years from 1989-1994 and always thought that the suicide rate was not accurate and must be higher than reported, based on how many unhappy people I encountered every day there.
Your post shows you know very little about the Soviet of Washington.
I just heard some lunatic liberals on TV say that everything is fine in Seattle and the news reports are “distorted”.
My wife and I live near Olympia, and can testify to the massive messes that accompany the homeless as they move from one site to the next.
Disgusting filth. Needles. Shopping carts - many seriously damaged. Tarps. Garbage.
Welcome to Inslee’s Utopia.
Ensign Road is the entrance road to Providence Hospital.
There are 130+ RVs parked along the road. The County placed one dumpster and one portable toilet there for all of them.
The road runs downhill from the hospital to the wetlands below.
When it rains, the campers open the drains from their toilets and let raw waste flow along the street to the wetlands.
There are piles of garbage every where. The County has allocated $500,000 to move them all to “scattered sites” but no one will agree to let them stay.
The RVs were given 2 weeks to vacate last October...Until the WA Attorney General sent a letter stopping the vacate because it violated the WA Disabilities Act:

Funny they said the same thing March of 2019 when a local news channel was brave enough to tell the truth.
