The most rural shooting was a prolonged shooting. The other one in White Settlement *wasn’t*. Watch the video. Yes, the first guy that gets hit in any mass shooting/attempt is usually boned because of the element of surprise, but then you have a little bit of reaction time before they can turn the gun on you.
Watch the video of the White Settlement shooting.

First victim saw it coming, gun snagged on his clothes. The guy who actually shot the perp would not have had time to rack his slide before the perp turned the pump shotgun on him if he’d carried in Condition 3.
You are at least severely behind the times on that. Condition 3 is banned from every PD in America - they went to retention holsters instead, but the myth that the bad guy won’t just rack the slide and bring your appropriated Condition 3 pistol to Condition 0 and shoot you quickly just won’t die.
Condition 3 kills carriers.
Watch the videos I posted.
Cops have to go places I do not. If I’m downtown at 10 PM, I take a different approach from when I’m going to buy hay on a Saturday morning. The church I attend is small. But if I’m not shot first, I’d have time to rack the slide. Although I usually carry a revolver. Which I habitually fire single action.
You can’t point a pistol at folks.
From the article, he wasn’t charged. So who knows at this point. They’ll get him, if they want, with some type of Reckless Conduct or Failing to Retreat or some nonsense like that.
Actually I very much get the whole “freedom”’ thing.
Most importantly, I’ve learned not to put myself in places or situations that could potentially limit that freedom.
For example, after the Chauvin case comes to a close and the Twin cities area is on fire, I’m not going to drive down a street where I see ANTIFA or BLM actively engaged in destroying the place. I’ll inform my clients that we will meet somewhere else, next week or on Skype.
One thing I won’t do is put myself in the middle of something and think that I’ll be able to get myself out of it by pulling a pistol, or thinking that the cops and/or DA will be in my side of something goes sideways.
You know, that freedom thing. The freedom to keep myself out of trouble and away from something that will only lead to bad things.
Now, if ANTIFA follows me home and comes into my house, good luck to them.
Yeah, looks like was not charged:
The guy with gun was NOT arrested...not charged...FYI
So the guy was subdued, walked away in zip-tie cuffs for purposes of “questioning?” Wow.
Unless his release was part of a deal with the police, he should have a pretty good case of false imprisonment.
He probably had a pretty good attorney.
I think the Salem police were protecting him...he had been sprayed with pepper spray...Salem police are generally good guys...have a friend who works for them (IT guy)
