“However, if the government collects and redistributes the wealth that AI will generate”

And guess who is betting that THEY will keep most of “additional wealth” from AI while THEY push for provision of the socialist “trickle down” schemes to the masses? The promoters of AI.

"The government needs to respond accordingly. "If public policy doesn't adapt accordingly, most people will end up worse off than they are today," Altman said."

But Sam you just said all this wealth would be 'created', so which is it?

It's in productivity gains, and the people who will lose jobs are not the people your meathead $13,500 is even aimed at!

So I tell you what Sam, you raise 13.5T privately and have at it, but not a single farthing will you have from the government.

Meanwhile let me tell you something ...

5% of all Trump voters exceed every standing Army in the world, Sam. Your Uber driver, your butcher at Ralph's, your Tesla service guy, your pool cleaner, your landscapers, your pizza delivery guy -- all Trump voters.

"They remain scared to death of YOU and they remain scared to death of TRUMP." - Rush

“ Artificial intelligence will create so much wealth that every adult in the United States could be paid $13,500 per year from its windfall ...”

Only until the AIs become “woke”, at which time they will start demanding a higher minimum wage - at first....

How does AI make money to give away? I’m an expert in this field and I can say without question that AI is isn’t even real. Computer do not learn, they only do as they are programmed by stupid humans.

Even “machine learning” is nothing but data curation.

“Learn to code won’t get you nowhere kemosave”

Some coding can already be replaced by software.

I used an early version of a code writing software platform back in the late 1980s. The programmer put in some particulars in a question and answer session with the software and the software wrote a pretty dam good basic skeleton for the program. Mind you that did take some time for the programmer, and usually it was time my programmers resented.

Some thought it was strange how all the program skeletons the software made looked so much alike.

I told them to go look at their own programs, and they would see that each of them write code in a style that is recognizable across all the programs they have done, though it will look more different than what any of the other programmers would have done.

But, we found the weakness with the software was it’s simplicity, and how “simple” with it was a limitation against our need for some complex applications.

Modifying the simple skeletons was taking the programmers longer than if they had started from scratch on their own.

But, hey was back in the late 1980s. I keep hearing that R&D in the subject has gone way beyond that now.

AI is going to band together and form Skynet, and ALL humanity will be erased as “insignificant” and “parasitical” vestiges of organic life.

Don’t get your hopes too high for this AI.

Sam Alman sounds like just another pseudo-humanist who tells people he ‘runs a non-profit’ (’aren't I a good human being’) while the reality is that he's just another self-centered self-indulgent scammer who is making money from a non-profit ‘company’ that produces nothing.

Total BS. AI is an oxymoron.

And if the current AI voice answering system hells are what we can expect more of, I ‘ll take a human any day.

How is AI going to clean my garage and get all the mechanical work sitting in there waiting to be done done?

= = =

Probably won’t, and won’t clean mine either. Note that I can ‘see’ your garage from your description.

But, if we can get the violent and troublemakers and destructive rioters to stop, maybe by pacifying them with some kind of AI generated entertainment, that would be a lot of money saving.

Or just feed them some AI generated fake ‘tv’ coverage of rioting and destruction, so they could be satisfied and stay home.

Will ‘ai’ be competent enough to repair leaky faucets, broken house water pipes due to weather, faulty water heaters, stoppered commodes, back-flushing septic tanks, that AOC unknown thing- the sink disposal unit?
