Actress Rosanna Arquette took to Twitter Friday to proclaim: “Nazi white supremacists are many governors, people in Congress, our police,” the “military,” and even the “entertainment news” industry.

“Kkk spent years hiding behind their hoods. Now they are front [and] center for the world to see,” Arquette tweeted. “Nazi White supremacists are many governors , people in Congress ,our police force , military ,in entertainment news . We see you and you won’t get away with it.”

Actors, entertainers etc. receive adoration, riches and publicity far beyond any significant contribution they make to society. This is made possible by a large potion of humanity that is easily entertained and not given to deep thinking. In time, many of these accomplished impostors/actors come to believe that they are important far beyond anything their lack of learning or study could otherwise make possible.

I give them short shrift.

Rosanna doesn't know what she's talking about. "Nazi" is a word with a very specific meaning, and you can argue that Americans - by definition - cannot be Nazis because they are not German, and Nazism was a German phenomenon.

Self-proclaimed "neo-Nazis" are a tiny minority in this country, probably no more than 3,000, if that, and hold no power whatsoever in any major organization.

One of the better things to happen this year is that I got off Twitter. It can be a fine place if you stick to pictures of kitties or other fuzzy animals, but anything else, be it politics, pop culture, science, religion, etc., is filled with nuts screaming for blood. Sure there are good people on the site, but too many are unmedicated crazies with unhealthy violent fantasies & need serious help. I this say this as a medicated crazy who wants everybody to get along, even though it seems impossible.
