Meth-Spiked Adderall Threatens Kids. Blame The DEA.
American Council on Science and Health ^ | 03/24/21 | Josh Bloom

As if our never-ending war on drugs hasn't already done enough damage (1), children are now in the cross-hairs. Counterfeit tablets of Adderall, a drug typically used to treat ADHD, containing high doses of pure methamphetamine are being seized in the Northeast, primarily in New Hampshire. Since children and teens primarily use Adderall, the manufacture of "Meth Adderall" pills is especially ghoulish.

Feel free to blame the DEA for this latest debacle (2). The agency is responsible for the passage of a 2006 law that required the decongestant drug Sudafed to be labeled a controlled substance because its active ingredient, pseudoephedrine, was being used to "cook meth" (3). The results were predictable. In the absence of a supply of pseudoephedrine – Sudafed's active ingredient – meth labs, especially in Mexico, were forced to improvise resulting in the widespread use of a much better way of synthesizing the drug (called the P2P method). This, in turn, resulted in the US being flooded with more, purer, and less expensive meth than before Sudafed was taken off the shelves. The numbers speak for themselves.

“Counterfeit tablets of Adderall”

If parents can’t ‘safely’ drug their kids, perhaps they’ll go to what works, which is spanking them.

Or not putting them in the government schools where the solution to the problem of active young boys is to drug them into a stupor.

Is this mainly given for ‘hyperactive’ children?
I guess jury is still out on what works best; prescription drugs or behavior modification. Some kids may simply need more structure in their lives, without the structure becoming too rigid.

They had my poor wife in tears and I went into the meeting and took on about 11 if these Beulah Ballbreaker women and destroyed all of them by asking them tough questions and they backed off mediately

That’s how you have to deal with evil is confront it strongly and write in its face

because its active ingredient, pseudoephedrine, was being used to "cook meth" (3)

I was going to make a smart-ass comment about someone has been watching Breaking Bad. Then I saw footnote 3:

(3) The conversion of pseudoephedrine to methamphetamine was the basis of the show "Breaking Bad." Walter White also switched to the P2P method when he was required to make more product.

Too many parents are willing to let the “experts” attach labels to their kids. It gives everyone a pass on any problem whether it’s a behavior problem, a discipline problem, or what I think is the biggest issue - the failure of schools to educate children. Teachers now have a ready-made excuse as to why Johnny can’t learn. Dyslexia in particular is usually bogus. Many kids mix up their letters at first but get over it after a while. If you think about it, how can you see a letter one way and write it the opposite, but not then see it the opposite from what you wrote? I probably didn’t make that clear, but think about it for a bit.

I recommend the book “How Children Fail” by John Holt. (good read, even if Holt was an aging hippie with some goofy ideas on child-rearing in general)

The whole goal of public education was to create obedient citizens. Dewey and Webster had a bunch of docile automatons in mind with their plans for schools. Dewey was a socialist.

The left today wants control of our kids from infancy on starting in government-run daycare and pre-schools. They do not want parents raising independent thinkers.

If a boy acts like a boy, the left will force him to take drugs to feminize him. It’s all part of the war on “toxic masculinity”.

The problem isn’t “hyperactive children”. It’s adults who are braindead.

And you have to be braindead to buy into the ADHD scam at all.

Boys cannot sit still for long periods like girls can. They need more exercise to break up the sitting time. In the past when we were more agrarian a lot of boys had chores before and after their school time. Now they go off to school to sit most of the day and often do not get exercise at home.

So they are fidgety in school and the solution has often been to drug them. The teachers are majorly female now and are happy with the passive girls and don’t make provisions for active boys. They probably should take a longer break between classes where all the children do some running and some pushups.

There was a set of exercises encouraged by JFK to keep students active and more physically fit.

It's both. Drugging boys made a black market for the addictive and abusable drug Adderall possible - and the War on Drugs made it easier to meet that demand with disguised meth than with real Adderall.

This two paragraph exert doesn’t make sense.

Why would a U.S. law affect pseudephedrine availability in Mexico?

Is the article suggesting parents are buying Adderall on the black market or from otherwise unlicensed distributors?

Dewey was also a key figure in the post-modern humanist movement. One of 34 signatories on the Humanist Manifesto.

I don’t think that is what he meant. He meant that the misguided government effort to ban pseudoephedrine here only led to drug dealers and users finding alternatives in China and Mexico. Every time the government tries to fix something it leads to unintended consequences.
