Former Trump campaign lawyer Sidney Powell yesterday responded to the $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit that Dominion Voting Systems filed after she repeatedly accused the company of participating in an elaborate international conspiracy to deny Donald Trump his rightful victory in last year's presidential election. Her defense, more or less, is that she did not really mean what she said.
True, Powell claimed over and over again that Dominion rigged voting machines to manufacture "millions" of votes for Joe Biden. She fingered a specific Dominion executive as largely responsible for the scheme, claimed the plot had its roots in fraud-facilitating software that had helped keep Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez in power, and said China, Cuba, and George Soros were also in on it. But "no reasonable person would conclude that the statements were truly statements of fact," Powell says in her motion to dismiss the lawsuit. Powell also argues that the preposterousness of her allegations should protect her from civil liability for damaging Dominion's reputation. "Plaintiffs themselves characterize the statements at issue as 'wild accusations' and 'outlandish claims,'" she notes. "They are repeatedly labelled 'inherently improbable' and even 'impossible.' Such characterizations of the allegedly defamatory statements further support Defendants' position that reasonable people would not accept such statements as fact but view them only as claims that await testing by the courts through the adversary process." ***

Fooled me. I keep forgetting that the internet is more trash than truth and to take everything with a grain of salt until confirmed by 2 other sources. It is an easy trap to fall into.

Because millions of other crazy people did and still do believe her, and pushed their state governments to cancel Dominion contracts. Right or wrong, the company suffered major damages.
Then why did Trump put his faith in incompetent people to get his “Stop the Steal” message out. You are insinuating that he is either incompetent, or fooled by Democratic machinations.
She hasn’t produced a shred of irrefutable evidence for her outlandish claims. So that is highly unlikely, which is why this is a Motion to Dismiss.
I knew from the moment she was photographed with Gen Flynn leaving a courthouse as she wore a ugly Blue dress with some white round circle, that she had very poor judgement.
I have been following her pretty closely and I haven’t seen any court yet that has invited her to show her evidence. She has it. She has to get into court first. Showing it to us doesn’t do much.

There is no Edison County, MI. In fact there is no Edison County anywhere in the United States.
If she knew that, she’s a liar. If she didn’t know that, she’s not competent. We should have gotten somebody better to make the case that needed to be made.
She is grifting gullible folk as hard as she can. Several courts reviewed “the Kraken”, and were not impressed. She could not provide any evidence to Tucker, when she would have had a huge audience. Many claims were just really, really stupid, like claiming fraud in counties that didn’t exist, or were the wrong state. Her witnesses were not vetted, and unreliable. She tried to grab as much cash as she could from her followers, and now is going to wind up penniless. Good.
Time will tell. I believe her and I’m suspicious of most. I also have no faith in any conservative or lawyer for any conservative finding an honest court.

I think Dominion is crooked as the day is long.
Let the trial begin. Put them under the microscope. Years will pass before this is resolved.

You know, that was a court filing—and not just on any case. It was an extremely important case.
