(CNN) President Joe Biden is tasking Vice President Kamala Harris with overseeing efforts with Central American countries to stem the flow of migrants to the US southern border, senior administration officials said on Wednesday, the first major issue Biden has assigned directly to his No. 2.
The assignment mimics Biden's own efforts in 2014 and 2015, when he was asked by then-President Barack Obama to lead diplomatic efforts in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador after a surge of unaccompanied minors from those countries began arriving in the US.
Migrants are again arriving at the border at increased levels, causing a scramble by the administration to accommodate them and a political problem for the White House.

Harris talks to foreign leaders on the phone. Harris is the lead figure on the Colorado shootings for the administration. Harris will now be in charge of diplomatic efforts in Central America and no doubt with Mexico too. Harris is undoubtedly the lead person for the administration when it comes the the illegal immigration on our southern border.
No doubt, Harris is the lead person for just about everything in the “Harris/Biden” administration. Biden will soon be making it official that Harris is to assume the presidency, officially and not behind the scenes.
Big question should now be: Did we elect Kamala to be the president? That was the democrats’ plan from the beginning, since they knew that Biden would not be up to the task.
