As I watched the Senate hearing on gun control this week, I cringed at some of the gun control proposals promoted in the name of public safety. Many people want to “do something” to stop what some call “gun violence.” I call it violence because I realize that violence is a behavior, not an object.
Guns are used every single day in the United States to protect innocent lives. It is a point often overlooked by gun control proponents who choose to ignore justifiable defensive use of guns to protect innocent lives.
I am a victim of a violent crime myself. My husband Ben was shot seven times and killed in front of me by my stalker. I never blamed the gun or pushed for more gun control because I realized that is not the problem.

Intended consequences
RATs only care about POWER. They intend to do things that will make you WANT to shoot them , hence they want to take away the guns first.
It’s to prevent “gun violence” like that couple in St. Louis holding off that crowd with guns. They just wanted to take over their house and kill them in the process, and how dare they brandish a gun to stop their threaten-ers from piecefully demonstrating.
Gun confiscation is their dream
I think this is obvious but I have yet to see it in the news: This guy bought a gun six days before his mass shooting. Therefore, he passed a government background check.
How many lives were saved by shooting him?
Defund police, open the southern border, and (try to) confiscate guns. A recipe for further Democrat crack-downs on American citizens.
I haven’t heard what kind of optic might have been on the weapon. From what I hear, it was a Ruger 5.56 AR pistol. MSRP is about $1K. Decent optic can be had for less than $200. I wonder where he came up with a quick $1200? May be a government stimulus check involved, as well.
Thanks, TM!
True.
From that article:
He bought a Ruger AR- 556 pistol exactly a week ago on March 16, 2021.
The same article also says it was a AR 556 rifle at another point. Actually it says rifle, handgun and tactical vest. From the article:
Alissa asked if he could speak with his mother after surrendering to police on Monday, having stripped off and laid down his down his Ruger AR-556 rifle, handgun and tactical vest in the supermarket’s aisles.
So he did have to pass a background check, which I haven’t seen anyone mention so far. In several other shootings in recent years, that point has been made, usually within 24 hours. So far, not a word.
How did he pass a background check? He had to lie. It has specific questions about mental issues. Then again, how many people with mental issues will admit it?
Good example of a person who should have been on a no buy list if I ever saw one. Family confirms he had mental issues, trouble in school, known and documented threats and a known and documented tendency toward violence, sore loser and of course, islamic.
Another one who slipped through the cracks. I haven’t read the other thread yet, but it seems, according to the title, the FBI was already aware of this guy too.
Looks like it could have been prevented, and nobody did a thing. Not even the FBI...
Remember what Lying Lyndon Johnson said in 1968 and how the new law would cut crime? How did that work out!
“Today we begin to disarm the criminal and the careless and the insane. All of our people who are deeply concerned in this country about law and order should hail this day.”-— Lyndon Johnson signing the 1968 gun control act into law.
