What do you do in the United States of America when a local business can’t or won’t provide a product or service you’ve requested? Speaking only for myself, I walk out the door and spend my money somewhere else. (Or at least I did, back when businesses had doors you could walk in and out of.) I vote with my wallet. If they don’t want my business, fine. That’s capitalism, and it’s been working pretty well for the last few centuries.
Or at least that’s the way it used to work. But in the 21st century, that’s not enough. These days, a disgruntled customer needs to ruin the proprietor’s life.
Colleen Slevin, Associated Press:
A Colorado baker who won a partial victory at the U.S. Supreme Court in 2018 for refusing to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple went on trial Monday in yet another lawsuit, this one involving a birthday cake for a transgender woman.
Autumn Scardina attempted to order the birthday cake on the same day in 2017 that the high court announced it would hear baker Jack Phillips’ appeal in the wedding cake case. Scardina, an attorney, requested a cake that was blue on the outside and pink on the inside in honor of her gender transition…
In opening arguments, a lawyer representing Phillips, Sean Gates, said his refusal to make Scardina’s cake was about its message, not discriminating against Scardina, echoing assertions made in Phillips’ legal battle over his refusal to make a wedding cake for Charlie Craig and Dave Mullins in 2012.
Sounds like it’s time for Colorado to open a second bakery.
If the name Autumn Scardina sounds familiar, that’s because this person has been hounding Jack Phillips for years.

Phillips didn’t do anything to this person. He didn’t go to Scardina’s house and scream through a bullhorn. He didn’t try to peel off Scardina’s scalp while shouting, “She’s a man, baby!” He hasn’t harmed Scardina in any way. He just politely declined to provide a service for religious reasons, and now he’s being persecuted for it. Again.
Doesn’t Autumn Scardina have anything better to do? Isn’t it enough just to be able to live your life in peace? Why do you need your choices to be affirmed by people you obviously hate? It’s just spite. It’s bullying. Scardina is the one with all the power in this scenario, and that power is being abused.
Did you notice that Scardina isn’t hounding a Muslim bakery? I don’t know how many people have gone to Muslim-owned bakeries and asked for gay wedding cakes and gender transition cakes and whatnot, but it never makes national news. It’s almost as if only certain religions are considered easy prey.
Sounds like we got a Nazi in the “WHITE” House again. Same old sh*t. The XBI is going to be busy chasing Americans again.
Time for Colorado baker to retire. Bake for fun and friends.
Some people can’t afford to retire. And if he closes his bakery to look for a job, how many employers are looking for a worker who comes with a helping of infamy and a mob of vindictive persecutors?
It’s time to try, convict and sentence the members of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission for gross abuse of the baker’s Constitutional rights under the 1st and 14h amendments.
Bake the gay cake and top it with a turd, free of charge.
It doesn’t help when our side also gets the issue confused. Phillips is NOT “refusing to serve” anyone. He is refusing to be forced into a contract to produce a product that violates his conscience... just as a Jewish baker should not be forced to produce a cake celebrating Nazi Germany. Phillips will serve anyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, he will even bake a generic wedding cake, but will not produce a cake that celebrates a behavior that violates his conscience. The so-called “gay rights” campaign is, in actuality, an effort to force society to celebrate behaviors that, at their best, are dysfunctional, and at their worst are an abomination to God.
Wrong,,,,,,Mr. Baker can bake for anyone he damn well pleases.
that’s the problem with being gay. You not only hate yourself but everyone else especially those that do not agree with you
I hope someday Jack Phillips get the VIP Suite in Heaven.

Why don't you retire from here........
and if you really want to take a trip to the psychological dark side, there’s this:
” Feeling neither male or female. I don’t know what I am a lot of times.”

I'm genuinely curious. I understand the problems with homosexuality but what are the religious objections to transgenderism?
RE: understand the problems with homosexuality but what are the religious objections to transgenderism?
If the binary of male and female is God’s creation and idea from the beginning, and if we are meant to embrace, by divine design, our biological and creational difference as men and women, then it stands to reason that the confusion of these realities would be displeasing to God.
And so we see clearly in the Bible that men should not act sexually as women (Lev. 18:22; Rom. 1:18-32; 1 Cor. 6:9-10), that men should not dress like women (Deuteronomy 22:5), and that when men and women embrace obviously other-gendered expressions of identity it is a disgrace (1 Cor. 11:14-15).
All he needs to do is to become a Muslim and they will leave him alone and let him deny whomever he wants cakes.
I don’t understand why someone should be forced to bake cakes for someone else. Apparently SCOTUS agrees. But they will keep hounding him because he refuses to bow down before anyone except JC.
Walmart. $6.99.
Does anyone deny that such confusion exists?
Should people who are genuinely confused be denied cake or is the theory that the confusion isn't real?
Why the need to insult me and be a jerk?????
I feel bad for the guy. They won’t stop. How long can someone go on being tortured. It reaches a point if it were me its not worth it.
