The refusal of prison workers to take the vaccine threatens to undermine efforts to control the pandemic both inside and outside of prisons, according to public health experts
A Florida correctional officer polled his colleagues earlier this year in a private Facebook group: “Will you take the COVID-19 vaccine if offered?”
The answer from more than half: “Hell no.” Only 40 of the 475 respondents said yes.
In Massachusetts, more than half the people employed by the Department of Correction declined to be immunized. A statewide survey in California showed that half of all correction employees will wait to be vaccinated. In Rhode Island, 30% of prison staff have refused the vaccine, a higher rate than the incarcerated, according to the state’s Department of Corrections. And in Iowa, early polling among employees showed a little more than half the staff said they’d get vaccinated.
As states have begun COVID-19 inoculations at prisons across the country, corrections employees are refusing vaccines at alarming rates, causing some public health experts to worry about the prospect of controlling the pandemic both inside and outside. Infection rates in prisons are more than three times as high as in the general public. Prison staff helped accelerate outbreaks by refusing to wear masks, downplaying people’s symptoms, and haphazardly enforcing social distancing and hygiene protocols in confined, poorly ventilated spaces ripe for viral spread.

"Imagine a vaccine so safe you have to be threatened to take it for a disease so deadly you have to be tested to know you have it."
I confirmed my appointment for Thursday noontime for my first dose of the Moderna.
I am 62 and signed up on March 15th and I was expecting to have to wait a month.
Given that about 30 million doses have been dispensed, I think it is now well-characterized as being acceptably safe enough.
That is your decision. I have already had the BatFlu and came thru fine. I already have antibodies. No one knows the long term effects of these mRNA vaccines.
From the article: “A Florida correctional officer polled his colleagues earlier this year in a private Facebook group: “Will you take the COVID-19 vaccine if offered?” The answer from more than half: “Hell no.” Only 40 of the 475 respondents said yes.”
Nothing more unreliable than a self-selecting Facebook poll.
Good luck with that!

We know the long-term effects of the virus can include death.
They could dispense a billion doses, and we still would have no idea what the long term side effects might be, because we simply didn’t do those studies.
“We know the long-term effects of the virus can include death.”
The long-term effects of life include death.
good way to get time off.
That is true. Especially in ~<.03% of "cases".
Actually, we know that the long-term effects of anything do, in fact, include death.
We don't know the long-term effects of an emergency vaccine that has been on the market for a matter of months; to pretend otherwise (based on the quantity of people who have taken the vaccine) is foolish.
That’s my take too.
WuFlu felt like a mild hangover to me.
I won’t be taking the dang shot either.
Got my first shot on Sunday. Your arm/shoulder will be pretty sore for a couple of days, but that was it for me.
A concern that I have is that the mRNA changes genetic code permanently in the cells that encounter the viral serum. What this means is that new defects caused by the genetic code changes could likely result in new cancers or other diseases/syndromes that otherwise would likely not occur in the body. Again, the cure cannot be worse than the disease, and since cancers can take years or decades to occur, I will take my chances with a new Wu-Flu than increase my already high chances of cancer occurring in the future (have a long family history unfortunately). If I am compelled to take it by the government, I will automatically fully reject it based on Constitutional and religious grounds.
I have seen and heard enough about these vaccines to be concerned that our immune systems can be irreparably damaged upon taking them; we may survive one strain of this only to be overwhelmed by another one in a year's time.
good luck with that

In the “long-term” you WILL die!
Getting the vaccine might accelerate that.
99% survival rate or take an unproven experimental vaccine. Tough choice.
Same here. I don't think there's been near as many true covid deaths as claimed. Big blue city hospitals shut down elective and non-emergency procedures. That hits their budget hard. But FedGov is giving away $14k per covid death. What to do? What to do? Hey I got an idea. We'll just call everything covid. Nursing home my wife works at has had 35 cases. Two deaths and those two people were bad off to begin with and the flu or common cold would have probably killed them.
Everything about this virus has been lies and hysteria from the left/msm/dems/fauxi. We must shut the country down. We must change voting rules. Do not wear a mask, it won't do you any good. Wear masks or you're a murderer. Wear two masks. Stay 6 foot away from other people. Meanwhile we keep catching politicians not wearing masks and not social distancing when they think there's no camera on them. Reporters too.
