Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps discussed attacking a US military base using an explosive-laden boat.

Members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps discussed attacking a US military base, according to the Associated Press. The Fort McNair Army base is a 10-minute drive from the White House and is located in the US capital. The National Security Agency intercepted the communications in January and they include discussions of using some kind of explosive-laden boat as was used in a 2000 attack in Yemen against the USS Cole.

“The intelligence also revealed threats to kill Gen. Joseph M. Martin and plans to infiltrate and surveil the base, according to the officials, who were not authorized to publicly discuss national security matters and spoke on condition of anonymity. The base, one of the oldest in the country, is Martin’s official residence,” the report says.

I doubt they would attack a Military Installation, but public places, transportation, electrical installations, etc...

Remember that most bases are Gun Free zones, where only a very few are armed and the rest of the weapons are behind lock and key.

If the Iranians were to do it, now’s the time. There’d be no definitive response from the idiot and his gaggle of clowns in the WH.

True but hopefully the people working there are trained and ready to respond in short order, outside of an airport terminal, sporting events when they return, hospitals, city buses, etc. are softer targets

it’s about what’s best for America, right?

Not in the current Regime’s Plan. Destruction first, best later.

And would result in a shock that would set the US Military on hits heels for a while.

That would be an improvement - they would have to get up off their collective SWJ butts first.

Ft. McNair is not that large of a post. It has 2 sides on the water: Anacostia River and the Potomac River Boundary Channel.

Company A, The Old Guard, has not been stationed on McNair since around 2010.

Consider the source of this news, and their own unstated motives.

If you are legally (or not) allowed to carry concealed, do so. Everywhere. All the time.

You and your sidearm probably can’t take down the entire terrorist force. But you might get to take down a few, hopefully their commander. Odds are your piece will never see daylight, but better to have one and not need it ...

Your best contribution might be to make enough noise to draw police, who would then call in the heavies. The element of surprise would then no longer belong to the bad guys and that is key.

By definition, we are the militia.

The National Guard would be almost useless against a terrorist attack unless they were to form a human fence around a target.

That is why there are specially trained police and military, DHS/FBI and ICE teams to deal with homeland terrorism threats.

The National Guard troops brought into DC after Jan. 6th were regular weekend warriors (not disparaging them, just stating that they were not a “ready reaction force” for much of anything other than a Kent State style shooting scenario).
