NBC’s Soboroff: ‘Disingenuous’ to Claim There Is a National Security Crisis at the Border
breitbart ^ | 22 Mar 2021 | PAM KEY

NBC correspondent Jacob Soboroff said on ABC’s “The View” that it was “disingenuous” to say the surge of unaccompanied children crossing the U.S.-Mexico border is “some kind of national security crisis.”

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked, “President Biden just got into office, like, 61 days ago. He has had to deal with the aftermath of an insurrection. He had to do the once-in-a-lifetime world pandemic thing, and now he’s getting a whole bunch of flak for not having the entire border situation figured out. Do you think it’s unrealistic to expect he’s going to have all the answers, especially since he’s cleaning up yet another mess left by the guy from before?”

Soboroff said, “You know, it is unrealistic. Do I think that President Biden would be able to do what they say they want to do, create a fair and safe and humane, and orderly immigration process after four years of the cruelty of the Trump administration, after decades of bipartisan Democratic and Republican deterrence-based, punitive-based immigration policy that treated immigrants, asylum seekers especially as criminals in the course of 61 days as you said, no, it’s just not logistically possible.”

He added, “I hear a lot of talk about, really disingenuous about a crisis, some kind of national security crisis at the border. That is not what is happening at all. But we do have, and we should all recognize and say that it is a humanitarian crisis to keep children locked up. Even Biden’s own Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas, says it’s no place for a child. That has created, yet again, another humanitarian crisis like we saw under President Obama like we saw under President Trump worse than ever before, and on purpose because of the separation policy. Now here we are again under President Biden.”

Soboroff was an aide to New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.

He has contributed reporting to CNN and NPR’s Weekend Edition.

As a correspondent for MSNBC, Soboroff specializes in border issues, making him one of the first reporters to call public attention to the Trump administration family separation policy, where children were separated from parents who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border without proper documentation.

He was one of ten journalists invited by authorities to tour Casa Padre, a facility in Texas housing 1500 boys ages 10 to 17. He described it as “shocking... an old Walmart which has essentially been turned into a child prison.”

His book on the subject, titled Separated: Inside an American Tragedy, was published on July 7, 2020.

But Whoopi, liberal idiots LIKE YOU, expected Trump to have the entire covid 19 situation figured out in far less than the 61 days which Biden has been president.

CBP Admits Release of Migrant Families Without Court Date, Downplays as Normal

https://www.breitbart.com/border/2021/03/22/cbp-admits-release-of-migrant-families-without-court-date-downplays-as-normal/

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials admit they release certain migrants without issuing a Notice to Appear before an immigration court on a specified date. The official, however, said this is not a “change in policy.”

Breitbart Texas’ Randy Clark, a retired U.S. Border Patrol agent with 32 years of service, first revealed on Sunday that CBP officials notified Border Patrol agents to begin releasing migrant families without a Notice to Appear. Breitbart confirmed the directive with two officials operating under the umbrella of CBP.

Clark quoted a CBP official saying, “This is insane, it is another pull factor that will overwhelm us … We are creating another entirely different class of aliens we will have to deal with years from now. We will never find most of these aliens once they are released.”

He has had to deal with the aftermath of an insurrection.

So he had to get a broom and a dust pan for the glass from a couple broken windows?

He had to do the once-in-a-lifetime world pandemic thing,

So he just had to keep the production of vaccines which his predecessor caused to be invented and distributed?

and now he’s getting a whole bunch of flak for not having the entire border situation figured out. Do you think it’s unrealistic to expect he’s going to have all the answers, especially since he’s cleaning up yet another mess left by the guy from before?”

That's the problem. The situation was working pretty well handled until he "cleaned up the mess" which President Trump left. If he had handled COVID like he did the border, he would have ordered all of the vaccines destroyed and their factories burned out of spite. Instead he just took credit for passing them out. If only he had done the same with the relatively calm border from the Trump years.
