The Ford Motor Company, a multinational automaker, is reportedly planning to move a $900 million investment originally intended for an Avon Lake, Ohio plant to a site in Mexico, the United Auto Workers (UAW) union alleges.
In a letter to Ohio Assembly Plant (OHAP) employees in Avon Lake, where Ford employs about 1,740 workers manufacturing its F-650 and F-750 medium duty trucks, UAW official Gerald Kariem said Ford had committed to investing $900 million in the project in 2019.
The massive investment, Kariem wrote to workers, included a Ford commitment to bring a “next-generation product” to the Ohio Assembly Plant for production by 2023 and an “exciting vision for the complete revitalization” of the plant to secure “employment well into the foreseeable future.”
“These contractual commitments were an enormous win for the UAW, for the great state of Ohio, the community of Avon Lake, and most importantly the members of Local 2000,” Kariem wrote.
Now, though, the UAW official says Ford executives are backing out of the deal and plan to move the investment to Mexico [emphasis added]:
Unfortunately, Ford Motor Company has decided it will not honor its promise to add a new product to OHAP and, instead, it intends to build the next-generation vehicle in Mexico. Ford management expects us to just hang our heads and accept the decision. But let me be clear, we are making a different choice. We 100 percent reject the company’s decision to put corporate greed and more potential profits over American jobs and the future of our members. We expect the company to honor its contractual commitments to this membership and when it fails to do so we will take action. [Emphasis added]

America Last Union Boys and Girls. But hey, at least your Union bosses like Trumpka are getting rich.
Remind me, whom did the UAW endorse in the presidential election?
Can’t they all just transfer to Mexico with the new plant, this is what they voted for isn’t it? The UAW supported Joe and the Ho, learn to code or become Social Workers.
President Trump got USMCA through to correct NAFTA and you're scre****** it up. And it was a 3 country deal.
First you sc*** Canada and the USA by stopping the pipeline. Now you've scr*** the USA again by raising taxes.
Don't you have any common sense??
And do you ever think of jobs lost??
I'll call you...the UNFIXER....aka...jerk
Hey Ford!
Forget about that Mustang I was going to buy.
Good! The people knew what was going to happen when they put the thief in office.
We’re going to need more coding schools.
Do you miss Trump yet?
“Good! The people knew what was going to happen when they put the thief in office.”

We the people did not put LyingBiden in office. The deep state, using rigged voting machines and a few useful idiots in select cities in five states stole the election. Anyone who can’t or won’t admit this is a fool. The UAW was a major supporter of their successful effort.
Forget about that Mustang I was going to buy.
And they can forget about that new ranger I was considering...

Yeh, the Left continues to play the unions for suckers. And, the unions keep buying into the Lefts lies and false promises. Some things never change.
Another thing: I've always wondered when there is a massive recall for some problem with a car — where were those cars manufactured? We should refuse to buy a car made anywhere but the United States.
Here we go again. Moving jobs to Mexico but Mexicans flocking into America. How does that make any sense?
Has this move been confirmed? So far all I have seen is from the UAW accusing Ford of planning to do this.
And the cartels can demand a “toll” from every car-carrier they allow through the border bringing these cars into the US.
I understand that the Democrats openly stole the election. I understand that the Republican Party aided and abetted. I understand also that there were a lot of bastards who voted for the thief and whore. And last but not least, the Nation is pretending as if the stolen election never happened.
UAW rank and file left the Democrat plantation long ago.
Yep. Even removing the margin of fraud, Xiden and Kameltoe got a ton of votes even in places like Ohio. Wish I could just say “old habits die hard” but in this case the Old Republic dies with it.

Globalization has made it difficult for someone to determine a product's country of origin. In the past, one could assume that a product from an American-based company was built in America; however, this is no longer the case. The same is also true for foreign manufacturers. For example, most Japanese cars were once built in Japan. But Japanese manufacturers now build many of their vehicles in the United States or in other countries. The best way to determine a car's country of origin is to inspect its VIN (vehicle identification number). This number tells you everything you need to know.
Step 1 Find the vehicle's VIN. The VIN is printed in several locations. The easiest place to find it is directly beneath the windshield on the driver's side of the vehicle. You can also find the VIN on the driver's-side door jamb. In addition, it's printed on the vehicle's title or registration.
Step 2 Inspect the first digit in the VIN. This is the only number you need to analyze to determine what country the vehicle was built in.
Step 3 Determine if the number is "1," "4" or "5" to find out if it was made in the United States. Either of these digits represents the United States as the country of origin.
Step 4 Determine if the number is a "2." If so, the car was built in Canada.
Step 5 Determine if the number is a "3." If so, the car was built in Mexico.
Determine if the number is a "J" or "K." If so, the car was built in Asia. "J" stands for Japan, while "K" stands for Korea.
