EIB
----------
Guide Host Todd Herman playing clips of the voice of Rush is set up for failure. I'm sorry. Rush and his listeners deserve better than that.
Standby for the slimes coming out of the sewer yet again to trash Rush.
There is no bigger Rush Limbaugh fan than me. Began listening on his first day of national syndication. I even have an autographed photo in my home office with a cool backstory of how I got it.
But, While I really like Ken Mathews and even Todd Herman, I’m not listening much anymore.
He was a force but it’s now over. My local station is moving on. In two weeks, Derek Hunter, one of the local guys and a regular post subject here on FR is talking the 12-3 slot.
I wish they would have waited a few days. Dan Bongino got his start in radio on the same station and Producer Joe was their morning show producer for 20 some years.
Rush built a powerhouse network and an industry. I’m looking forward to the success of some of the excellent young talkers who are riding in his wake.
I’m sure all public schools will be tuning in within all classrooms. Could I be in error here?
Could be a Paul Harvey type with the timeless subjects. When I’m in an old folks home I hope he’ll be available non-stop digitally.
I heard someone congratulate Derrick today, I thought he might be filling in for Rush, sorry your in Md. My wife and I are thinking about movng. Harmony md is where my cell is.
Yea, the sad thing is that I moved here.
12 years ago I lost my job. Maryland was 50th on my list of top 50 places to move to, so of course, you know where God gets me a job.
I enjoy my work and have gotten involved with some ministry stuff that’s keeping me here.
I primarily work from home and could move but nowhere in the northeast US is really any better until you get to Maine.
100% and I am a long time ditto-head.
Agreed...last time I listened was when Mark Steyn hosted. This morbid fascination is absurd.
If Premiere Networks is listening, I stopped around the time when carriage hill said the show wouldn’t be posted on FR anymore. Then I checked in again last week and Guide Host Todd Herman said “I’m really excited to hear Rush’s take on this in the next hour!” Thought that was a poor way to phrase it. Checked in a few more times and it was either Rush speaking or Rush limbaugh doing a commercial. Then a female caller called up crying about Rush last week and it made me almost tear. I can’t take it anymore. Checked in again today, and it was Todd Herman so I guess they are sticking with him and the clips.
Your right about the east cost.we were looking mid west, a long growing season. Take care.
That’s where we’re from. Michigan. Given the current climate there I don’t think I want to go back.
With Ford moving more production to Mexico, this might be the start of another depression there.
It was pure depression during the last depression. So of course the moronic president and his handlers name the failed governor as Energy Secretary.
Whitmer has zero economic intelligence so I suspect another downturn there to hit soon. Maybe indiana
It’s all about ratings. If the “guide hosts” and clips of Rush can maintain most of his audience, the format will continue. If listenership craters, look for Premier to move someone else—probably Buck Sexton—to the time slot.
Saw another thread earlier about Dan Bongino’s new show (syndicated by Westwood One) that will air 12n-3pm eastern. Westwood is marketing Dan as the “replacement” for Rush, without mentioning that ElRushbo worked for the competition. Always thought Bongino was adequate as a fill-in for Mark Levin; don’t see him as someone stations will flock to carry.
Real test is how many Rush affiliates switch to Bongino in the months ahead.
“The transitional programming will continue “until his audience is prepared to say good-bye,”
I said RIP and goodbye to Rush and the show, being a listener since 1995, the day he was buried. This dragging-out of his legacy is maudlin, morose and morbid.
The EIB Network should continue. Find fresh new voices who came up in the wake of what Rush showed the way for. Rush’s wisdom is classic and ageless. So is is humor. That is a rich resource to draw from, for whoever inherits the golden mic.
I thought the same, too. But Rush was still on some Cumulus stations in the top markets.
Chicago - Cumulus carrying Rush.
Dallas - 2 Cumulus stations with one carrying Rush.
San Francisco - Cumulus carrying Rush.
Washington, DC - Cumulus carrying Rush.
Everyone knew for the past year that Rush’s days were numbered.
Playing clips of Rush, as you say, sets up failure.
I haven’t listened to the EIB for two weeks. It’s a shame. I also expected better.
The Rush Limbaugh show is being dropped already here in Jacksonville, FL. Starting next week WOKV is moving their 10-Noon conservative talk local guy into Rush’s old time slot. The clip thing isn’t going to work. They need to name a permanent new host and get on with life.
