With a number of states adopting Constitutional Carry laws, one of the issues that is coming up is what should the age limit be for those who carry. Of the 18 Constitutional Carry states, twelve allow people to carry guns at 18 years of age. One other state allows carrying at age 19. We have previously done research showing that 18 to 20 year olds are just as responsible at carrying as those who are 21 and older, though we can’t tell whether the results are similar for those who aren’t required to get a permit. If you count New Hampshire and Vermont age limits as 18 (given that is federal law), the average age that people can carry in Constitutional Carry states is 18.9 and in Right-to-Carry states is 19.7.

At what age can someone join the Army and carry a rifle?? That should be the minimum age everywhere. Under that age they should be able to carry a rifle with parental supervision. I had a 22 rifle at age 14, but my Dad made sure I handled it safely and accurately.

AMEN!
I want to get a gunslinger belt and 6-shooter like the ones in Bonanza or any of the other old western shows.
if anyone asks I will just say Since the State is making me wear this bandana on my face, I just feel the need to complete my costume.
Going to the bank should be especially fun :)
$36 million the NRA spent to get this guy elected and this is how he repaid us.
My son got his concealed carry permit at 18 in Alabama. It was a little bit of a hassle. He had to prove he was a high school graduate, and either employed or a student. That was the sheriff’s rule. Those requirements could probably be beat if someone chose to fight it because it’s not in state law.
Let’s make the drinking age, the driving age, and the firearms age all the same. Think of how many great birthday parties this country will have!
You already can, it’s just that Floridians and everyone else cannot go to NY with their shallnissue or CC handgun....
You see who needs reciprocity? It an it generally liberal curtain folk with lucens3s going to red states, it’s us going (if dragged) to your states.
Back when I was in college in the 60s, NY state had legal hard booze at 18. Of course everybody cheats a couple years. So by the time those guys hit college, they were hard core alkys. All we had in Ohio was 3.2 beer.
The President said to put it in a separate bill and I agree.
when did that start? USAC still says no...

I'm done making excuses for their lies and betrayals. I supported these chumps for 25 years because of the 2A and look what that got us.
All my kids got their permits at 18. No hassle.
Don’t know who did this research, but the age to carry concealed in Vermont is 16. Those younger can legally carry concealed with a permission slip from Mom or Dad.
It should be the same as the minimum age to vote.
This is in Mobile. I believe our sheriff is not a big time 2nd amendment supporter but fortunately hides it due to wanting to get reelected. He was the chief of police in Mobile before running for sheriff. What county are you in if you don’t mind me asking?
