WASHINGTON (AP) — With a nod to Women’s History Month, the Democratic-led House is on course to pass two measures Wednesday, one designed to protect women from domestic violence, the other to remove the deadline for states to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.

The latter measure passed by a vote of 222-204. Debate is ongoing with the Violence Against Women Act. Both measures face a more difficult path in an evenly divided Senate.

The White House announced its support earlier Wednesday for reauthorizing the act, which aims to reduce domestic and sexual violence and improve the response to it through a variety of grant programs.

Is it this bill that will allow unsworn information about domestic violence parallel with firearm possession? ( Red Flag)

My great grandmother beat my great grandfather to death with a cast iron skillet. Would any of these bills have protected him?

...to remove the deadline for states to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.

Does that mean that those states that want to withdraw their early ratification would now be allowed to do so.

The ERA would be a disaster for women's rights.

It'll end women's sports, Title IX, a women's advantage in family courts and custody arrangements. It'll harm surivor's benefits that widowed wives receive. Most women have no idea of the hard-fought gains they'll lose. Society has changed quite a bit since the 1970s when the "Good Idea Fairy" planted the ERA into the minds of feminists across the nation.

Do you know who wins if the ERA is passed? Men.

Pass it and find out.

How about banning men from competing as “women” in women’s sports?

If the ERA passes, and the draft is started again, women could be forced to kill people on the battlefield. Forced to. Is that what we want?

That is the Democrat way. If you can’t get something done within the time limit or law, change they so you can. We saw it blatently during voting in 2020 and now with the Equal Rights Amendment. It is a standard practice.

Bolsters went out of style about a century ago.

Women are equal, treat them as such.
