Former President Barack Obama on Wednesday urged for an “alarming rise” in anti-Asian violence to come to an end after a white man confessed to killing eight people, six of which were Asian, at massage parlors in Atlanta metro area.
“Even as we’ve battled the pandemic, we’ve continued to neglect the longer-lasting epidemic of gun violence in America. Although the shooter’s motive is not yet clear, the identity of the victims underscores an alarming rise in anti-Asian violence that must end,” Obama wrote on Twitter.

We do not know the true motives of the man who did these shootings, but the media immediately jumped on the singular narrative that this is anti-Asian violence due to the virus.
The fact that every media site reported the same narrative tells me it is contrived and not true.
How about violence in general or are certain kinds OK?

The shooter was a patron of these massage parlors who apparently was so ashamed by his needs that he decided to shoot up the places. If they’d been staffed by white women or black women, he’d have shot them too. This isn’t a racial issue.
