Washington(CNN)The US intelligence community said in a landmark report Tuesday that the Russian government meddled in the 2020 election with an influence campaign "denigrating" President Joe Biden and "supporting" former President Donald Trump, detailing a massive disinformation push that successfully targeted, and was openly embraced, by Trump's allies.
Russia's objectives were not limited to hurting Biden's candidacy and aiding Trump's reelection bid, the report says, as US intelligence found that Moscow also sought to undermine "public confidence in the electoral process and exacerbate sociopolitical divisions in the US."
Overall, the report released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence provides the most comprehensive assessment of foreign threats to the 2020 elections to date, detailing extensive influence operations by US adversaries, including Russia and Iran, that sought to undermine confidence in the democratic process, in addition to targeting specific presidential candidates.
It also confirms what was largely assumed, and barely hidden, last year: Trump and his closest allies publicly embraced Russia's disinformation campaign against Biden, met with Kremlin-linked figures who were part of the effort, and promoted their conspiracy theories.
The report said the most aggressive foreign attempt to "undercut" Trump came from Iran, but Iran didn't "actively" promote Biden, and their efforts were smaller than the Russian operation.
But while the report concludes that multiple foreign adversaries did attempt to interfere, it also notes there are "no indications that any foreign actor attempted to alter any technical aspect of the voting process in the 2020 US elections, including voter registration, casting ballots, vote tabulation, or reporting results."
That echoes what the Department of Homeland Security's cyber arm said the day after the 2020 presidential election. "We have no evidence any foreign adversary was capable of preventing Americans from voting or changing vote tallies," CISA said at the time.

At this point US intelligence is an unAmerican formation dedicated to the enslavement of the American people. That’s just a fact, they are dedicated to this and have no allegiance to us. They are Stasi.
I don’t believe the Russians would do anything to support a conservative. The Democrats probably have an actual fee schedule for their favors. The Russians can take the menu and buy any policy they wish. Whereas Trump did what he thought was best for the United States, which did not involve helping the Russians or the Chinese.
Having said that, it’s funny to see the American media get their panties in a bunch over foreign influence in US elections. The US has openly and clandestinely supported whatever side it wanted in foreign elections since at least the end of WWII. Sometimes, the CIA actually assassinated or otherwise removed elected governments across the world. Installing the Shah of Iran, which worked out well, assassinating south American leaders, which didn’t work out so well.
The problem I see with assassinating leaders or removing regimes is that it appears we often fail to achieve the results that were envisioned. It’s probably a lot better to work with whoever is elected to achieve the results America wants. Most of the evil leaders are just like America’s Democrats, easily bought. The Ayatollah Khomeini only went back to Iran and toppled the Shah because Jimmy Carter stopped the CIA from paying him to remain in France.
It seems that Democrats do things for reasons of their twisted view of how the world should work, rather than a realistic view of how the world DOES work. Then, periodically, America elects someone from the other party and the whole country does a 180 flip in how it interacts with the world. If I ran a foreign country, I’d really try hard to influence American politics to get the candidate I wanted instead of someone I know will embargo my goods and freeze my assets. That’s politics.

Did Moscow keep prying eyes from observing the counting process in inner-city districts? Did Moscow shoot scads of mail-in ballots out of a circus cannon to be harvested like low-hanging fruit?

Oh gee, no mention of Obama sending a crew to Israel and spending $350,000 of our dollars to help defeat Netanyahu and no mention of old Elephant ears also telling the Brits in a speech he made while visiting to vote against Brexit.
That’s REAL interference in another governments internal affairs. Of course Obama FAILED in both attempts but that is no surprise because he was the most incompetent of Presidents in our Nations history.
