MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - The large influx of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas now involves Midland.
On Sunday, Governor Greg Abbott announced that the federal government planned to move some children from the border to a holding facility in Midland. The migrants arrived in buses overnight.
The holding facility is located in the area of FM 1788 and County Road 150 in Midland County.
Midland Mayor Patrick Payton confirmed the news to CBS7 on Sunday, saying that city and county officials were scheduled to meet on Monday to discuss the issue. Midland County Sheriff David Criner says that his office wasn’t notified of the situation until after the fact.
“We want to reassure the citizens of Midland County that the Midland County Sheriff’s Office will be closely monitoring the situation and the holding facility in Midland County for the safety and security of our citizens.”
City and County officials will be holding a press conference on the situation at 2 p.m. You’ll be able to watch it live on the CBS7 Facebook page.
Governor Abbott said he didn’t know about the Biden Administration’s plans until late Saturday night. He has questions about the number of children transported, how they will be transported, and what COVID-19 protocols will be followed.

Honestly, the American public is happy as long as the media tells them they are happy. No mean tweets, no constant whining of media morons, life is good.
A little more information. The location housing them is an unused “man camp” which is a housing facility for oil field workers. It usually has minimal security for things like theft, etc. A co-worker says the population in the area is “freaked” out and the reporter on one video said they are not young children but older teenagers.
So what, does Texas need to pass a law that says that if you are NOT an American citizen, you are an ILLEGAL ALIEN AND ARE TO BE ARRESTED AND REMOVED FROM TEXAS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE? Again, bus them all to Wash DC.
I wonder if a fake storyline, a meme as it were, saying the US was murdering these invaders and grinding the bodies up for fertilizer would cause some of them to turn around.
After all, similar tactics work against Trump!
Just from the picture on the story, they don’t look particularly “child-like”. Most look like males, too (from a quick glance).
Saw on TV that Hispanics along the border voted for Trump due to the crime and drugs coming across and are being impacted by Biden’s open border policy. Talked with another co-worker, who is Hispanic, and he says this has got to stop. He understands the humanitarian needs but we can’t take all of Mexico and Central America. His own father, who worked in the cotton fields near Lubbock but was born in Corpus Christi, told him their family is proudly American (coworker is ex-Marine).

If you cared about America the political class would stop it. It’s not going to stop. They don’t care. They say screw you, me and anyone not onboard with importing Democrat voters.
At estimated 9% of covid infected immigrants,
that would be only 23 additional cases of covid-19 overnight.
Buy-den has already indicated that mandatory wearing of masks would continue until we stop the infections.
At this rate of massive daytime, and then also the overnight crossings, control of the disease will never happen.

I agree but that takes a sack and Abbott doesn’t have one, at least not for politics.
On a personal level, I believe he’s tough as nails.
Drive them over to California...near Meghan and Harry’s house or Oprah’s, perhaps...... The governor’s mansion?
Just keep loading them up and more grating them to where they are desired and welcome. There are no illegal borders between states...and there are a number of blue ones to choose from. Spread the “freedom”.
