WASHINGTON — Federal authorities arrested two men over the weekend on suspicion of assaulting Capitol police Officer Brian Sicknick and two others with bear mace during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Julian Elie Khater, 32, and George Piere Tanios, 39, were arrested Sunday and are expected to appear in federal court Monday, The Associated Press reported.
In a criminal complaint obtained by The Washington Post, an FBI official said surveillance footage and other video showed Khater and Tanios talking Jan. 6 as supporters of President Donald Trump gathered at the Capitol.

In the article, it’s mentioned that one of the two who had the bear spray said, ‘they [the cops] just sprayed me” before he sprayed his own can.
So it sounds like the cops were out there deploying their own, more powerful pepper spray at that same time.
The coup plotters need to distract the public from the stolen election and prepare the ground to begin disarming those they mean to subjugate.
In their last issue, the once conservative now Republican Party establishment ragazine, National Review, had a big paragraph about officer Brian Sicknick being killed by rioters.
They dutifully repeated the fire extinguisher crapola and how it was all Trump’s fault.
I wrote them a very nasty email telling them they are just another stupid rag and after being a subscriber for 28 years I would not be renewing.
They must have gotten an earful, this issue they printed a “correction” saying evidence was lacking and they were wrong to print the accusation...’bout time!!
I’m still done with National Review...they are the publication of the Romney-Cheney wing of the Republican party.
You have it backward. Bear spray (2% cap) is WEAKER than human pepper spray (10% cap). This is because bear spray is designed to deter a bear, ie, to make it run away, and not knock it on its butt. A bear, unlike humans, will hurt itself if it is blinded for a long period of time.
The advantage of bear spray is it fires long distance, which is so you don't have to get close to a bear to use it. Human pepper spray is meant for close encounters. I suspect police pepper spray is high-pressure, so it shoots far, which makes it appear as if it is bear spray.
Bear spray and people spray is the same damn thing. I used to say that erroneous stuff myself until I wondered if I actually knew what I was talking about. The idea that they spray different distances is bogus. The reason bear spray is not stronger is because Sierra Club. If you have an encounter with a grizzly bear and you expect to survive you better have a freaking gun. Those f’ers will eat you. They actually consider humans to be a food source.
The limit of the strength of bear spray and people spray is set by the EPA at 2%.
The distance that pepper spray and human spray will go is a function of the size of the canister. People spray is shorter because the cans sre tiny and you wouldn’t lug a fire extinguisher sized container of bear spray in your purse ir pocket.
I just now thought of something: when they said he got hit by a fire extinguisher I thought they used it to bludgeon him. That would make the most sense if you wanted to hurt someone. Later they said that wasn’t what happened. But maybe someone saw him being sprayed with a big can of bear spray which could possibly be mistaken for a fire extinguisher. Then they would say he was hit by a fire extinguisher. Someone bringing bear spray instead of people spray probably had bad intentions.
There is a brand of bear pepper spray called Counter Assault that looks very much like a fire extinguisher in the 10.5 ounce size.
Lies and BS by the government, etc.!!
Yep, unfortunately you are correct!!
Even though it only contains 10.5 ounces of bear spray the container has to be large enough to hold the propellant needed for it to reach 25 feet.
“Bear spray is simply higher percentage pepper spray.”
Incorrect. Bear spray is at a LOWER percentage than human spray. Bear spray is around 1-2% versus 3% or more for human self-defense:
“In bear spray, the concentrations of “capsaicin and related capsaicinoids” (CRC) or “major capsaicinoids” (MC)—the parts of the oleoresin capsicum that actually cause pain—tend to be lower than in (illegal-in-Canada) personal pepper spray, which can range between 1% and 3%. Bear sprays in the US are regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency and are required to have a CRC concentration between 1% and 2% CRC, while most bear sprays available in Canada have a 1% concentration.”

Yep, my source was wrong.
But the stuff you and I can buy is actually 1-1.5% capsacim.
The stuff the police can use is up to 10%. That completely makes their case total garbage.

From California?.
They’re also distracting everyone from several of their governors having killed a bunch of elderly Americans.
And, they’re distracting us from this:
Maybe this has more to do with Nancy Pelosi’s panic and her desire to keep Washington DC behind razorwire than did the Jan 6 demonstrations:

I understand that the seizures are suspicion of merely being in DC on January 6.
Bail hearings have been postponed and delayed—in a way that seems to be a matter of deliberate policy.
There is little contact with the outside. We know nothing about the conditions they’re being held under.
It’s beginning to look like we have a human-rights crisis here.
It’s time to go outside the country—maybe the Hague?
I believe the delay is because the much publicized official general criminal complaint
included a fictitious photo of the 'horned Viking' that had been proven to be photo shopped.
The delay is for the Feds to obtain general and proven evidence, including circumstantial evidence,.. not including now known photo shopped fiction.
The delay is due to the unusual circumstances surrounding the two protests which occurred on Federal grounds; most of which is TDS (emotional) among the Feds.
The only possible human rights violation regarding bail is related to U.S.Federal charges which can only be addressed in U.S.Federal court; the Hague would have no interest.
I’ll admit, the Hague was a ridiculous suggestion. It was the first thing that popped into my head.
I didn’t know that the photo-shopped evidence played such a prominent part, but that is their fault. It’s inconceivable that facts tending to exonerate defendants could be used to extend their pre-trial punishment.
There’s more to this than bail: non-violent protestors are forcibly snatched from their homes and slammed into prisons away from scrutiny by the public. We don’t know the kind of conditions they are under.
It’s the very thing that led to the original revolt, something all these human rights organizations exist to end, and it’s an appealing media narrative.
Most important, it would embarrass deep state and get them to free these patriots.
Human Rights watch? Anyone?
