Concerns have been raised that rapid response Covid-19 tests are providing too many false positives, therefore 'ruining' the return of students to UK schools.
It has been reported that pupils are testing positive with on-the-spot Covid tests, isolating, and then testing negative with more reliable lab tests.
The Royal Statistical Society has said that more of the new positive cases recorded in schools by rapid testing methods could be inacurate than accurate.
It is believed this is the case because infection rates are currently low.
Meanwhile, the Government has released a new analysis reassuring the public that lateral flow tests have a specificity of at least 99.9 per cent when used to test in the community.
Health secretary Matt Hancock said: "This new data further confirms what we know – these rapid tests are extremely accurate and are helping dramatically curb COVID cases. On Monday alone, we conducted over 1.5 million tests.
"Around one in 3 people who have coronavirus never show any symptoms but may still be infectious. This means they could be spreading the virus without realising it.
"Rapid testing can help detect asymptomatic cases quickly, preventing the virus from entering schools, colleges or workplaces, and stopping outbreaks before they occur."
FDA said they "need more data" from the most reliable testing available.
Reporting facts would ruin the manufactured crisis.
There are no false positives in the United States. The CDC said so.

They NEVER told us there were false positives. That piece of information is absolutely critical for forming valid conclusions. They give us the number of “cases”. They define “case” as anyone who has one or more alive/dead viruses in the mucus of the nose.
A reasonable person understands “case” as someone who is sick with the virus, in hospital or under a doctor’s care specifically for the virus.
(The mucus is designed to trap foreign bodies before they get into us. Its job is to catch the viruses!)
It has been one colossal lie after another.
So stop testing asymptomatic people already!
Kids don’t pass on Covid their viral load is so low. So the problem is Teachers Unions, not Covid tests.
Stop paying Teachers to not work.
Give them 48 hours to report to work and if they are not at least 90% staffed declare the Union in default on their contract and fire them all.
It’s worth pointing out that testing of children returning to school in England is voluntary.
The linked news article appeared just 2 days after most children returned to school since 2020. Too early for any data to be available.
There has not been any reporting of “false positives” ruining the return to school. If radio phone-ins are anything to go by, school heads are very happy with progress.
