Trump Met With NRSC Chair Rick Scott at Mar-a-Lago, Adamant in Opposing Murkowski
The Epoch Times ^ | MARCH 12, 2021 | IVAN PENTCHOUKOV

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday dined with National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chairman Rick Scott (R-Fla.), a Trump adviser confirmed to The Epoch Times.

The meeting took place on the heels of a spat with the NRSC and the Republican National Committee (RNC) over the use of Trump’s name and likeness to raise funds, especially considering the committees’ ongoing support of incumbents who backed Trump’s impeachment. The group includes Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), whom Trump vowed to oppose in the primary. During the dinner with Scott, Trump would not budge on opposing Murkowski, according to the adviser.

Politico was the first to report on the dinner.

Trump and Scott discussed candidate recruitment for the 2022 election and getting Trump’s support for specific incumbents, the Trump adviser confirmed. Scott mainly focused on finding the best candidate for the midterm elections and figuring out how to best work with Trump’s team.

In an interview with the Miami Herald ahead of the dinner, Scott said that he hoped to use the meeting to reinforce the need for Trump to work with the NRSC as Republicans look to win back their Senate majority next year.

“I want to be an additive, I want us all to row the boats in the same direction,” Scott said. “My goal is to tell [Trump] what I’m doing. I’ve talked to him, and he tells me he wants to be helpful to me. He’s committed to Republicans taking back a majority in the U.S. Senate.”

On Feb. 23, Scott swooped in to “cancel” a brewing GOP “cold war” after Trump issued a statement lambasting Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in response to McConnell laying blame on Trump for the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. In his comeback speech on Feb. 28, Trump mentioned McConnell but did not...

It’s a small club and Trump isn’t in it.

He needs to stop endorsing Bush League Republicans so we can replace them.

We will never Make America Great Again by re-electing Assistant Democrats.

Good. It’s pretty outrageous that a conservative state like Alaska has to put up with someone like that. Unless Alaskans are not as conservative as I assume they are.

Is Rick Scott thought to be a Bushie or Globalist?
I don’t know that much about him.
I think he’s among those who DO NOT think The Election of 2020 was stolen.

Sarah Palin is the perfect choice. She’s already beat Lisa’s dad for governor and it would be great for her to have defeated father and daughter.

Scott’s got to be nuts to think that Trump would even remotely support an effort to keep Murkowski in place.

Kinda says it all...

When estab GOP senators get primaried, they quickly run 3rd party and win anyway. It is scandalous but it works every time. Think AK, AL, MS, maybe more.

Stick to your guns, President Trump.

Florida is in admirable shape, politically, despite having two shaking senators, who definitely don’t champion your MAGA agenda.

“Unless Alaskans are not as conservative as I assume they are.”

I don’t think there are a lot of New Yorkers moving there like there are to Texas or Florida...are there?

He is definitely a Bush League Republican, aren’t all of the GOP Senators globalists?
Rick Scott held up unanimous consent on Mike Lee’s Indian Importation bill for a while but then all of them backed it.

"Is Rick Scott thought to be a Bushie or Globalist?"

He is both...
Like a pretty FL Coral snake that is extremely venomous...
"Touch the yellow, kill the fellow" is, I think, the expression from all the years I spent fishing tournaments in FL...

Scott said “the need for Trump to work with the NRSC”.
Trump owes the Backstabbing GOP nothing. If DC Swamp Rats
really think Trump has lost his influence with his voters
why is McCarthy, Graham, Scott and others going to Fla to kiss
his ring.
The only way Trump will begin to lose supporters is listening and
doing what these Swamp Rats want him to do.
Trump will support MAGA Candidates and the Swamp Rats will
support fellow Swamp Rat candidates. Let the games begin.

Living in Maryland, all I can do is keep my Congressman, Dr. Andy Harris, who’s a member of the Freedom Caucus.

Harris is the ONLY GOP representative (for my 1st CD).

The other seven are all RATS.

Plus I’m stuck with a NeverTrumper RINO governor Larry Hogan, who’s likely to invite another wave of illegal aliens into our state. No help for our crime rates or making MD less deep blue.

They’re all making pilgrimage to Mar-a-Lago because Trump is going to have all the money.
75 million Trump voters won’t give a dime to NRSC. All donations are going to https://www.donaldjtrump.com and his SaveAmerica PAC.
