Draper Younce, a Navy sailor, was sitting in his car last week off of 103rd Street picking up a friend when a man tried to carjack him.
The terrifying ordeal was captured on Younce’s Tesla cameras.
The video shows a man run up to Younce with a gun drawn, even trying to get into the car.

Gotta get one of those new Tesla pickups with the bullet proof glass.

That bullet would have been a direct hit on his torso if the door frame hadn’t stopped it.

I’d be more impressed if it actually captured the carjacker. But no, no tesla in my future. Even if I were to win one.

That’s one reason I’m already in line for a Cybertruck. May not be truly bulletproof, but way better than anything else in a riot or carjacking.

I’m a huge fan of dash cams. For starters, if you are in an accident it shows what actually happened. There are LOTS of dash cam videos on youtube and a lot of them protected people from others lying about whos fault the accident was.
I suspect that pretty much all semi’s have them and more and more have them like that tesla did - all over the place. It’s just good for business. It’s dangerous to pull off the insurance scam against someone with video evidence of what really happened.

KARR would have.
KITT would have zapped the guy just enough to teach a lesson.

My son has a tesla 3 performance.
Recently while he was at work, a coworker parked next to him and the coworker damaged his tesla by opening his truck door into my son's car.
The coworker never told my son, and a day so later at home, when my son noticed the damage, he pulled up the camera memory and there was images of his coworker looking at the damage, and looking all around.

I think the guy was just wanting a ride to his college classes. Was offering the gun as barter in exchange for a favor. Probably discharged accidentally when the driver startled the young scholar by driving off so quickly

I drive a car with a manual transmission.
It's even better protection against a carjacking.

Then the sailor would have to wait 8 hours while it recharges. LOL! Sadly, many of todays ‘youts’ will never know the sound of a Chrysler starter kicking over a 426 Hemi. :-(

Why no Tesla in your future? Doncha wanna be magnet for car-jackers? I drive a cheap Chevy Spark and the potential carjackers just ignore me.
