If it is just background checks, I am OK with that.
But if there will be a annual fee to own a gun, that will be crossing my red line.

Amendment II

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

WHICH PART ARE YOU CONFUSED ABOUT?

“But if there will be a annual fee to own a gun...”

It goes much deeper than just that. There’s also a tax on mags, firearm insurance required, ammo tax etc.

It’s not just background checks It’s how long they take. I’ll bet the average to get the background check will be more than 8 months.
That’s NOT ok.

How do the background checks work? I want to give a pistol to my nephew (Army Vet by the way) Does the FBI have a web site where one can enter the info? What paperwork does the gift giver / seller get back? How much does it cost? Of course it won’t be free. Believe me this will be a nightmare. All this sounds easy if you say it fast.

I would invite you or anyone else who is fine with this BS to point out where the Constitution gives the feral government the power to mandate that a citizen get permission from that Constitutionally limited government in order to sell his personally owned, Constitutionally protected property to another citizen in a intrastate transaction.

So, a little bit of infringement is OK, but a whole lot is another story? FYI, that's how we got where we are today.

It’s the defacto creation of a gun registry. There is only one thing that happens once a gun registry is created. I’m not ok with background checks, they don’t stop crime and they are an infringement on the 2nd amendment.
