Taxpayers will foot the bill for experimental and extremely controversial transgender “treatments” including cross-sex hormones and surgeries that arguably harm healthy bodies in the pursuit of transgender identity. These surgeries, which involve the removal of healthy sexual organs, can cost as much as $200,000.
On January 25, President Joe Biden issued an order explicitly championing transgender identity in the military. He reversed former President Donald Trump’s policy, which did not ban transgender Americans from the military but did insist that all service members serve according to their biological sex, not their gender identity.
Biden’s order directed the secretary of defense and the secretary of homeland security to “establish a process by which transgender service members may transition gender while serving,” although it remained unclear whether or not taxpayers would get stuck with the bill for transgender surgery.
Later that day, however, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin (Whose name Biden forgot) announced that the Department of Defense would endorse transgender identity and pay for “transition related care.”
“This revised policy will also ensure all medically-necessary transition related care authorized by law is available to all Service members and will re-examine all cases of transgender Service members that may be in some form of adverse administrative proceedings,” Austin wrote.
In February, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced that VA Secretary Denis McDonough had ordered a review requiring the VA to examine “the delivery of medically necessary, gender affirmation care and procedures.”

When I went through the police academy in the mid 1980s we had a “desensitizing” class where they showed us the grossest pictures they could find to reduce the chances that we would freak out in a bad crime scene. One series of pictures they chose for this was “gender reassignment” surgery. As a man, you do not want to see this. I think a simultaneous moan went out from the entire class.
Canada had a case in 1997 where an NCO transitioned from male to female, and successfully sued the Army to pay for 'her' reassignment surgery.

That’s equity and justice under Biden’s admin.
This is going to be a mess. So anyone who can’t afford the surgery (most of them) will now join the military, get the surgery, and spend the majority of their enlistment on some form of disability while they recover and deal with medical issues. And this is aside from the service attracting large numbers of people with mental illness problems.
What could go wrong?
The holy grail for the left is to force us to pay for sex “change” operations, euthanasia, abortion, and aids care.
I appeared before Captain’s Mast once — and I was an officer. Folks don’t realize sometimes that officers can be subject to Captain’s Mast as well as enlisted personnel.
My “offense” was “desecration of a formal ship’s logbook”.
I was on the bridge one night. I was bored. We were at anchor and watches were duly posted. There was a fly on the bridge that was bothering me. I’m a writer with a sardonic sense of humor — so I began to write a story in the logbook about my hunt for the fly. It was pretty elaborate and very adventuresome. It went on for about five pages. Later after I left the bridge, an enlisted man who was very artistic drew accompanying cartoons in the logbook to illustrate my work. It really completed the tale and gave it some extra punch.
I was called before the Captain along with the enlisted man for Mast. The Captain was duty-bound to pursue this, and gave us a severe reprimand, while all the time trying to keep the smile off his face. He told me later that he made a copy of the story for his own amusement. I didn’t desecrate any more logbooks in my time, but I look back on the episode with quite a bit of humor.

The only “transition related care” we should be paying for is the cost of transitioning them to a loony bin.
You can’t be a diabetic and join up but we’ll pay for the mentally ill’s hormone treatments and surgeries for as long as they are in.
