That has crossed my mind more than once.
If China takes out our surface naval vessels with thousands of lives lost (they can) it will go nuclear before sundown.
I'm not so sure.. The left does despise the military and I don't think they have a better opinion of Taiwan. And they hate the idea of ANYTHING nuclear... Why, that would dirty the planet, don't you know.. /s
