"If you control the money, you control the party," Republican donor Dan Eberhart told CNN on Tuesday. "Trump has effectively stunted the RNC, NRCC and NRSC this cycle because they are going to have to spend an awful lot of time worrying about friendly fire from the MAGA crowd."
"The MAGA endorsement is going to loom large this cycle for everyone. When Trump puts his finger on the scales, it may prove decisive in a lot of races," said Eberhart, who said he is considering a Senate run in Arizona. "There is going to be a lot of consternation when Trump backs a different candidate than the NRSC and the NRCC in primary races. Serious people are going to get burned."

You'll note it never occurs to them to align the NRCC and NRSC and RNC with candidates Trump, et al would support.

Add in whenever the big reveal about Biden’s resignation from office in favor of Kamala and the Republicans will be reconfirmed again in backing Trump over the sell out by the GOP during the election.
If you are a moderate GOPer and planning a 2022 campaign...you probably ought to start writing your resume and thinking about a new occupation after the primary.
In my state I was automatically registered to vote when I got my drivers license in the late 80s. Since it was automatic it went in as Independent. Post-Reagan the GOP has never given me a reason to want to switch it from (I) to (R). And lots of reasons to go out of my way to not do so. I’m still there.
