An armed person stopped an attempted burglary in Atlanta this week, police said.
On March 8 around 3:03 p.m., officers responded to a Chik-fil-A on Peachtree Street.
“Upon arrival, officers spoke with witnesses who stated a black male walked inside, produced a firearm and demanded money from several employees. The employees fled and the suspect exited the business a short time later. Several nearby citizens confronted the suspect as he was leaving. One of the citizens was armed and at some point, during the confrontation, the citizen fired several shots. The suspect ran on foot and was apprehended nearby, by the citizens and held until police arrived,” the Atlanta Police Department said in a preliminary update sent to The Epoch Times.
“The suspect’s weapon was recovered. No one was struck by the gunfire and charges are pending against the robbery suspect. No charges have been filed against the citizen and the investigation continues,” the department added.
The suspect was identified as Willie Gloston IV, 23. The arrest report does not show an address for Gloston.

Now all they have to do is actually prosecute him and keep him in prison.

GA and TN are neither one a good place to pull a gun and stick up a business or person in daylight. That is the BEST way I know to get shot full of holes.
Recent thread here said almost every one of the BLM and Antifa rioters who shot lasers into officers eyes, pulled citizens out of cars to beat them, broke into and looted retail stores and burned them to the ground----were all out.
If Willie had been killed by a white citizen, you can bet that the Peachtree Chick-fil-A would be burned to the ground by next weekend.
Wanna bet Willie was just hungry and has turned his life around. Probably attending Georgia State in the fall majoring in Black Liberation Theology.
Absolutely! Atlanta is very blue but there are upstanding citizens there that don’t appreciate the ferals anymore than we do. A lot of more conservative business types live in the suburbs and drive to work in Atlanta. Either way, catching him and holding him is the best in a Democrat city no matter who you are unless your life is threatened. GA is very pro-2nd Amendment but the big cities are still liberal.
My baby sister has three mixed race sons and used to live outside Atlanta. Anytime she had to go into Atlanta one of them went with her and all three sons carry. So does she. I’m glad she finally moved home to TN.
In California the good samaritans would be arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault and Kidnapping.
Might as well archive these stories, otherwise our grandkids will never believe we lived in a society where we once owned the tools needed to defend ourselves.

They always talk about “First responders”, when in reality, often, long before they get there, the real first responders on scene are the citizens.

That may not have been what happened in this case. From the article,

There was some kind of confrontation outside the restaurant, but it’s not clear that the suspect was literally fleeing when shots were fired. The perp could have stopped when confronted, flashed or pointed a weapon, and then was shot. I agree, though, that unless the armed citizens feared for their lives (e.g., if the perp pointed a weapon at them), they should have not fired shots.
Hair like that automatically puts me on extremely high alert.
When I was running some work in the US, I had a few guys on my crew who were quite a bit darker toned than this white boy. One was a combat arms vet as I am, and the other had served too, but in a trade that doesn’t matter (only infantry and a affiliated trades matter) and be was a good guy too. Clean cut, well spoken and great hands. I’d hire them up here too in a heartbeat. Great role models.
On a side note, don’t post and tell me how your armed services trade was real. We all know how the totem pole works lol.
Have to have more details, but if he fired and missed, then marksmanship practice is in order. More importantly, did he fire out of fear of death or grave bodily harm to him or someone else in the vicinity? Or did he fire at a fleeing felon? The answer to that will determine how expensive this life experience will be for him.
Us REMFs just don’t get any respect around here.
