McConnell Out? Insiders Drop Bomb, May Not Finish Out Term: Report By Kipp Jones Published March 6, 2021 at 11:29am Mewe Share After being elected to seven terms in the U.S. Senate, a report claims Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell might be on his way out and seeking someone to replace him.

McConnell, 79, most recently cruised to his sixth re-election in November by a margin of 57.8 percent to 38.2 percent over Democratic challenger Amy McGrath. Former President Donald Trump endorsed McConnell in the race, which Democrats reportedly felt would be more competitive than it was.

But following Biden’s inauguration, Trump’s recent and scathing condemnation of the former Senate Majority Leader and a future in GOP politics where the Republicans of old and their way of doing business seems destined to be vanquished from the party, a report alleges that just four months after defeating McGrath, McConnell is seeking an exit.

Nick Storm, writing for The Intercept, reported that the Kentucky legislature is currently seeking to strip the state’s governor, who for now is Democrat Andy Beshear, of his ability to choose a replacement for the long-serving McConnell, should he retire.

Storm reported McConnell is behind a bill in the Kentucky General Assembly that would “strip the governor of that power and put it into the hands of the state GOP,” and might ultimately help to place the state’s attorney general, Daniel Cameron, as McConnell’s successor.

The legislature has enough votes to override a veto. The question is will the KY supreme court allow the legislature to write law. They seem the think that only them and the governor has the ability to make law in Kentucky.

As for McWeasal, he’s an ahole and could be easily beaten if the KY Democrats nominated a pro-gun, pro-life candidate instead of a Hollywood leftist type.

“Unless feds are looking to indict him or he’s got a terminal illness him I do not believe that Mitch would resign. “

Unless someone has something really bad on him.

“Also have an age limit of 70 years of age.”

Just about right.

IF you’re past that — in either House — you should have to pass a full psych eval with zero negative indicators before launching a campaign for another term.

I have tomatoes on my kitchen counter that can outperform Biden, and Pelosi has hit the ragged edge of octogenarian screechdom; she exhibits the geriatric symptom of becoming easily agitated when disagreed with, EVEN if the disagreement is presented in the form of a calm, cogent series of well-connected sentences.

DISAGREE == SCREECH

BOOM. She’s going mental and needs to be GONE.

Apart from catastrophic, unforseeable health crises, it ought to be regarded as CRIMINAL for any Member of Congress to be carried straight from their office to the morgue.

Good, now can we get all of the other Never Trumpers and GOPe and Swamp to resign or retire as well? Time to seriously and quickly clean house.

I'd like to know why Trump is not or has not taken a more visible and active role to lead the RNC?

Three thoughts on McConnell:

1. For his treachery to REAL Republicans, particularly Trump, I despise him worse than Pelosi.

2. From recent photographs, particularly his BLACK hands, I don’t think he is healthy.

3. I think he and his wife are indictable and the Democrats new AG and DOJ will see to it unless the CCP fends off the Dimwits.

Who says the dam governor will appoint Cameron? Cameron is a very good candidate. Were I a dem governor, I’d want to appoint the weakest of the three on the list.

The legislation KY is working on will strip the governor of his authority to appoint a replacement and will instead vest that authority in the legislature.

Interesting take. I’m thinking the populace is far more liberal and left wing than it was say in the 1970s and 1980s.

In the beginning, when senators were appointed by state legislatures, I would imagine a senator-term would be awarded to a retiring senior legislator, who would serve a term and then retire.

Kentucky Supreme Court will toss the law if it’s passed. Dems and Beshear have a lock on the court.

Constitutionally, the executive of the state (the governor) is the designee unless the legislature provides otherwise.
