The beauty and personal-care company Unilever said on Tuesday that it would no longer use the word “normal” on its products and in its advertising, following a study that revealed it makes most people feel excluded. Unilever, a London-based company that owns Dove, Axe, Sunsilk and Vaseline, among other personal-care brands, also said it would not digitally alter the body shape, size and skin color of models in its advertising as part of its Positive Beauty initiative, according to a news release. And the company promised to increase the number of ads featuring underrepresented people, without specifying which groups.

Because no one is considered normal anymore?
so now it's Name-only, Name-Dry and Name-oily??
but wait, ya can't do that either... cause feels
Does this mean I have to stop using Dove soap? 😡
I got a feeling she is a normal fat ass.....
“Underrepresentated People” seem to dominate advertising these days, don’t seem at all under represented to me.
Dove sucks. I buy Amish soap. It’s great and cheap!
I get mine from a nice homeschooling family who has a goat farm in Oregon.
Yawn. Why don’t the replace “normal” with “mediocre”?
Ha! What makes me feel excluded is that they only use emaciated air brushed hoes for advertising. Definitely NOT real people.
To borrow from another thread today.....Freak Out!!!!
Hmmm, the 10,000 people in the study?
Yeah, I’ve bought soap from them as well and goat milk lotion.
Everyone I know wants to be above average.
Hopefully Yardley won’t follow same path. I love Yardley soap.
I stopped using their products around the time they had a man pretending to be a woman in their ads. I hope Aveeno doesn’t go the way of the stupid.
Goat soap is terrific but hard to find.
Now I use Sukin from Australia, nice ingredients. No kangaroos were killed to make it.
My wife’s mother lives in Mennonite country in upstate New York.
They are great people and their stores have wonderful products.
This gives us one more reason to fill up the car with their products every time we visit.
How delicate do you have to be in order to be insulted by a bar of soap?
“Dry, normal, oily.
What if you replace “normal” with “average?” Who wants to be average?”

Change “normal” to “neither”. That way people won’t feel excluded... just puzzled.
