I’d never find one out here and never liked the looks of them. No purpose for me either. My dogs have had purpose. Guard dogs basically and also pets. We need a new family guard dog and I wouldn’t mind replacing the livestock guardian dog at some point. Get a young one and make sure it’s good with us and then let the older one teach it because he is good at his job, even if un-socialized with humans.

Well, there are greyhound groups all over MO, but I do get your point about looks. When I first saw them I didn’t like the idea that there are parts of their hind legs you can see through. On the other hand I now think they are the perfect art deco dog—almost feel like I should dress up when I walk mine.

Absolutely worthless as a guard dog, to steal a line from Charles Shultz, burglars fear them because they may trip over them in the dark.

But when they run, full out, they are a sight to behold.
