Mayor London Breed shared on Twitter Tuesday the orange and burgundy cars will come out of hibernation this year.

"People have been asking whether the cable cars will be able to return as we emerge from COVID-19," Breed wrote. "Cable cars are a part of the fabric of San Francisco. They draw tourists, they help our economy, and I'm not going to let them just disappear. Cable cars will be back this year.

It’s not all bad. Even some neighborhoods in the city of Richmond are very well maintained and nice looking.

I moved to San Francisco in 1968. I was 19 years old. I worked in the financial district and I rode the cable car to my Nob Hill apartment, which I shared with another girl from my hometown, every day back-and-forth. It was a wonderful time. Can’t imagine that that lifestyle could be even affordable these days. Used to cost a quarter. Last time I rode it was $3.00.
The apartment was $165, split, a month and we made about $525 a month each.

I thought the most beloved tourist attraction was the feces map adventure, the gay parades, the restaurant row ghost town tour, the homeless encampment theme park
