We don’t know that there was any threat that necessitated over 25,000 National Guard troops being in Washington, D.C., for Joseph Robinette Biden’s inauguration. We don’t know if there’s any threat that necessitates thousands of those troops being there now — or that any threat might exist in the near future that requires their presence in the nation’s capital.
But they get a cool ribbon for being there!
According to American Military News, those who served in the District of Columbia over the past few weeks will get either the District of Columbia National Guard Presidential Inauguration Support Ribbon or the District of Columbia Emergency Service Ribbon. In some cases, individuals could get both.
The Emergency Service Ribbon has already existed for those who serve in a time of crisis or an emergency that doesn’t have to do with war.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Inauguration Support Ribbon exists specifically for those who were in the District of Columbia for the inauguration.

Anything depicting Rome’s Praetorian Guard would be quite fitting for these individuals.
As phony as the Bronze stars given to JAG officers who sit behind the barbed wire of the Green Zone.
Any ribbon for participating in this Insurrection Theater staged by Pelosi should have a hammer and sickle on it since all they were doing was participating in a Communist propaganda event.
They can call it an award but it’s a mark of shame. It needs to contain a Communist red background with a bright yellow banana in front because it’s the first ribbon awarded in defense of the New Banana Republic.
Merit badges are more noteworthy.

A shiny new ribbon from the same folks who had their National Guards sleeping on the cold cement floors of a Parking Garage. A ribbon from those who suddenly evicted the NG out of more humane sleeping quarters indoors.
If you pull the medallion quickly will the ribbon inflate into a sleeping mattress?
Can you trade the ribbon for a fully cooked meal?

I always thought that was pretty idiotic, to give a Bronze Star to every deployed JAG (or other AFSC) in the AOR, regardless of whether they ever saw direct combat. And I’m a retired JAG. Of course, I got an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for having the coincidental misfortune to be PCSing out of Panama with my wife and daughter when Operation Just Cause started.

Well, they did have to eat undercooked zombie meat with metal shards to increase the odds of infection, though it didn’t seem to have worked, even with the Covid-19 zombie booster shots.
