Attorneys representing Ashli Babbitt's family recently released a statement.
Babbitt was unarmed when she was shot and killed by a law enforcement officer at the Capitol on the day of the riots.
For some reason, the name of the office who shot her has not been released.
Babbitt attorney's statement appears below:
The shooting of Ashli Babbitt on January 6, 2021 by an unidentified U.S. Capitol Police Officer was an unjustified use of deadly force which violated her constitutional rights. It is clear from video footage that Ashli did not pose a danger to the officer, or any other person, when she was shot. Ashli was unarmed. She did not assault anyone. She did not threaten to harm anyone. There was no excuse for taking her life.

I just find it bizarre that there are people who believe she is not dead and some of them are on this discussion board.
expecting return fire.
Implies fire from you first.
FBI
Am I the only one who does not believe it was a cop who shot her? The “arm” was not a police jacket sleeve. I am convinced after watching the live shooting, that it was likely a member of Congress. A lot of them are armed in the Capitol. The arm moved like someone who was frightened and then fired when she took a step toward where He/she was standing. A cop in that situation would not have fired that shot.

Oklahoma congressman MarkWayne Mullin could tell them. He was there and saw it all.
If she were black, rioters would be taking DC apart, DemocRats would be screaming for an investigation and firing of the cop and calling the rioters heroes.
The double standard here sticks in my throat
The DOJ, FBI and most agencies down there are run by traitors, criminals and communists.
However, the officer who shot Ashli never attempted to arrest her. Nor did he call on his fellow officers to arrest her. Instead, he fired a shot into her chest. Witnesses confirm that the officer did not give Ashli a single verbal warning prior to firing. In fact, Ashli was not even aware that the officer was present, as he was located in the doorway of a room off to the side of her field of vision.
They need more legal horsepower on this. File some suits, hold press conferences. Make the TV rounds.
Our DOJ is corrupt. They’ll sit on it forever. Why not? Who will stop them?
The guy in front who shot her was probably under orders to do so.
“Fo down to the door, wait there, anyone breaks through, shoot them!”
By who, is the question. Pelosi?
Silence...
I’ve been waiting for this! We can’t bring her back to life... BUT some scumbag has got to pay for her murder! So far... we don’t even know the name of the person who murdered her.
If it was a “clearly secured area of the Capitol”, (which it was not), then how could an unarmed woman/person have gotten in so far without being stopped?
Also, if there is a civil lawsuit, naming the shooter as “Shooter aka John Doe”, any legal response to the court will probably have to provide his name. It has to be served to “the person or his legal representative” to be signed for.
Eventually the officer (nobody seems to know which agency he works for - FBI, Capitol Hill Police, DC Police, Fed. Protective Service/emergency response team, etc). will have to make some kind of legal appearance, even if it only for Interrogatories/Depositions, and then the “complaint/lawsuit status hearing. It might even be done “in camera” (i.e. closed to the public).
This is going to be very interesting, to say the least.
Bull shit.
The guard could have grabbed her as she entered the window and pulled her in and down, driving her face into the floor with little effort. She was extremely vulnerable at the balancing point where she teetered on her feet and only kept her balance by tying up her hands on each side of the window frame. She could offer up little if any resistance at this quite vulnerable moment.
Any CCW class lecturer/instructor would ask you why you fired when there was no lethal force displayed towards you.
Many here want Ashli punished because she was a bad girl. Too bad. Lots of assholes do bad things that don’t warrant the death penalty. Freepers around here need to stop taking the name freeper and using it so casually.
Why didn’t any of the cops behind her use deadly force and stop her? Were they just as justified? Why wouldn’t they be justified? Answer the question freeper?
The cold-blooded killer cop lunges towards Ashli to make certain he had an absolutely accurate and deadly shot. The barrel’s discharge point was no more than 3-4 feet from Ashli’s body.
Switch the races of the actors.
Ashli is a black activist and the cop that shot his gun is white.
Tick tock.
How long until his name would be released?
How long until the Black Looters Matter storm troopers would be in action torching DC and about 50 other cities?
I knew you were Italian!
It looked like Chuckie Smucky Schumer with the gun that shot her when I watched the video. There is no eartly reason to withhold the name of the shooter if it was a legitimate shooting.
What would possibly make a military vet think jumping through a broken window would be a good idea? What would make her think she could even clear the furniture they had piled up on the other side of the door? Why didn’t the swat team that was standing on the stairs a couple of feet away from her do anything to stop these people? In fact the guards on the same side with the rioters just stepped aside and let them bash the window in.
All the comments exonerating the killer on this thread are baloney. I’m glad they’re there, just so they can be rebutted.
Justice will someday be served on this tragedy. I wish the law team all the best.
