Newsom COVID 'Equity' Plan: Vaccinate 2 Million Latinos or California Won't Reopen. This Should Work Out Well

California Governor Gavin Newsom has completely changed his response to COVID—again—this time leveraging opening the state for all Californians on the backs of low-income Latinos living in the areas with the highest rates of the illness.

In the name of “equity,” Newsom announced Thursday that 40% of all the state’s available vaccines will go to Latino communities in the Central Valley and in pockets of LA because Latinos have suffered the most death and illness from COVID.

And there’s a catch: Until the Latinos in these areas take the vaccine in higher numbers, California will stay locked down

Here in Indiana, black and latino peeps are largely avoiding the vax.
The vax clinics in the hood have very short waiting lists.
Not sure about how that will play out in California.

Okay, so why not ask if they are illegal, if so, give them the vaccination and turn them over to ICE for deportation. That way we address them as a group and help the country at the same time. Two million illegals removed from California will reduce stress on schools, hospitals, social services, roads, water usage, and energy usage. A great win-win.

When I was in San Diego years ago, it seemed mostly Latino.

LA County I would be about half Latino I guess.

There should be little problem getting two million Latinos willing to get vaccinated in a state of 40 million people of which probably a third are Latino.

And what Newsom is saying with his extortion gig is this: because Latinos have suffered the most death and illness from COVID, it must be the fault of the Evil Anglos.

But all of us here know that it's Mexican rejection of simple rules that leads to high infection rates among them. Social distancing at a Quncianera? Not likely.

I’m Hispanic/Latino-but I’m not getting the vaccine-the reasons are that I have had bad/dangerous reactions to drugs and vaccines since childhood-so I avoid them-and I had the Wuhan virus almost a year ago, mild case, cured with a natural remedy.

I don’t know about Cali, but here more Hispanics do not plan to get the vaccine than the ones who want to get it-they have a healthy mistrust of it because of all of Fauci’s blabbing something different every day-most are very aware of what is real and what is hype-the WASPs here are actually wanting to get this new vaccine more than any “minority” population-but this is a rural area with a lot of naturalists/preppers/offgriders of all ethnic groups living here, so that may well account for the lack of vaccine enthusiasm in general...
